Something snapped in Sky as he looked at Gun's unhinged grin. He lifted his knee and connected between Gun's legs as hard as he could, making him drop the knife, and he let go of his collar. He sank to his knees clutching himself, but was still trying to reach for Sky. Sky launched himself on top of him and started punching. When he stood up, he kicked him in the stomach with all of his force. Gun was now rolling on the floor, bloodied and screaming at his minions.

"Drop him!" Gun yelled. Sky raced to the ladder, praying that he would make it in time, as the two men were tightening the noose around Pai. "Drop him now!"

Sky wished in that moment he had wings to fly. The sweat was making his fingers slip on the bars of the ladder, but he gripped them as tight as he could while making his way as fast as he was able.

"Sky, please, just go!" Prapai was standing on the ledge with the two men holding onto the rope, and one of them was close to pushing him off. He tried not to look down as he raced toward the two men with all of his force, pulling Pai backward off the ledge and onto the ground. He grappled with one of them, and managed to connect a fist, knocking the man backward. He stumbled and tripped over the ledge, falling toward the ground.

Sky's skin was buzzing now. He felt like a wild animal that was caged for so long that he couldn't control himself any longer. The second man leapt toward him, but he managed to dodge him, causing him to also go flying over the ledge.

"Are you ok?" He sprang to Pai's side, helping him to untie the binds behind his back, and untightening the noose from his neck. He fell to the ground, clutching his boyfriend around his waist. He silently sobbed and gave Pai kisses around his neck and face. Mostly to check for other injuries. "I'm sorry..."

"For what?" Prapai lifted Sky's chin and laid his head on his shoulder. "You saved my life, Sky."

"But if I hadn't dated him, none of this would've happened."

"That's not your fault, Sky." Pai wrapped his arms around Sky, pulling him closer. "Besides...you were a badass back there. Where the hell did he come from?"

"You were in trouble. I couldn't let you die because of me." A hot tear fell down Sky's face. "You mean more to me than anything. You always keep me safe, Pai. I had to do the same."

Sky was taken back to that morning, after they had eaten breakfast. He had a few minutes to spare, so he asked Pai if he would hold him for a little while before he had to leave. Before he knew it he had fallen asleep in his boyfriend's giant arms. He remembered feeling warm, and comfortable, but mostly...safe. Pai made him feel safe, and that meant everything to Sky.

"I don't know if I am more proud, or more turned-on at this moment..." Prapai smiled, kissing Sky on the cheek. Sky smiled too, wiping his tears on his sleeve.

"I love you, P'Pai." Sky lifted his head to look into his boyfriend's shining eyes. He softly kissed his lips, cupping his hands around his face to pull him closer. "You're mine."
