"You're such a strange girl, I think you come from another world" the AirPods in my ear boomed as I walked down the street from my school, my best friends walking behind me while cracking jokes

"Natalie you wanna go to Lexi's with us?" Scott asked, wrapping an arm around my shoulders

"No guys, Ms. Hendrick's on my ass for the project due at the end of the week and I haven't started yet" I answered, a slight frown on my face since I've been wanting to go to Lexi's Cafe for a while now

"We'll help you do it when we get back, my mom and Henry aren't gonna be home till 11" Sydney suggested, all of us now leaning against a graffiti wall

"Girl what you know about ancient witchcraft? You're a fairy!" Patricia looked Sydney up and down, earning a playful push from her and a chuckle from me and Scott

"I'd rather not annoy y'all it's a lot of work, I'll see you guys tomorrow" I gave everyone a hug before walking off, walking across the crosswalk that led to my long route home

After a few minutes, I heard whistling; making me more alert of my surroundings. Whistling in my area usually only meant one thing, Witch Hunters. People who would kidnap witches to sell them into forced labor, usually making potions for rich and greedy politicians and their much younger significant others.

My footsteps grew faster as I felt a presence a few feet away from me, the left I was supposed to take getting closer and closer

Just as I was about to turn, I was pulled back by my hair into a dark alley; tumbling back as my hands reached up to free my hair

I was then pinned against the wall, my attacker pushing my head further into the wall to get a good look at my neck

"Hereditary! You don't know how high in demand witches like you are do you?" The man quickly slapped lobelia flower powder onto my face to disable my powers, and I could feel his hands wrap around my neck before squeezing tightly

I scratched at the man's eyes, the rest of his face covered by a ski mask. I slowly felt my lungs start to burn from the lack of air and just as I was about to pass out, the man was harshly pushed and his body flew through the air before falling back to the ground. I soon collided with the floor, my head spinning and vision blurry as I tried to focus on regaining my balance

I looked up to see where my attacker was only to see him and another man fighting, giving me a little time to escape

I groaned as I picked my self up off the floor, holding onto the walls that enclosed me as I struggled to make my way out of the alley. I swiped at my face, trying to get the powder the man had put on me off

My dizziness slowly shyed away as I continued to move against the walls, my movements speeding up

Once the effects of the tranquilizer finally wore off, I was finally able to sprint out of the alley and onto the sidewalk, not stopping to turn around or check if someone or something was behind me. Which I probably should have.
