In the quiet eve, Alysanne was summoned to sup with the queen in her private chambers and she met Aemond and Ser Criston along the way. Ser Criston divides from them while Aemond had been summoned as well.
"Where have you been?" She asked her uncle-husband.
"I was sent to find the future king." He answered, nonchalant as he always was when it came to his older brother.
"And did you find him?"
"Unfortunately." He muttered. "I'm sure the feeling is mutual."
They ascend the last stairwell to their destination. After taking the last step, Alysanne cussed under her breath, hells, when an ache appeared on her lower back. Aemond marches along, completely ignoring her.
"Good eve, mother." Aemond greeted his queen mother.
Queen Alicent greets him with a kiss on the cheek and his niece-wife with a squeeze on the arm in return. They approach the table where Lord Larys Strong was sat alone, to Alysanne's discomfiture. She saw him in the throne room, watching from the shadows as she defied the Hand of The King and came out of there alive and unchained. She may survive the game after all.
"I admire your dress, Alys. It brings out your smile." Alicent complimented her as they were seated by servants.
Alysanne smiles. She was about to express her gratitude and a most pedantic explanation, that is until Aemond spoke before her.
"It was my idea, mother. She may be her mother's daughter but she is my wife. Hence, people ought to know she has sworn her obeisance to the future king."
He does not know.
"I'm afraid the Princess has not done such a thing at all, my Prince."
Alysanne glowers at the other cripple in the room. Lord Larys munches away on a slice of lemoncake.
"Enlighten me then, Lord Strong."
Alysanne bites back a mad smile similar to what her husband oft wears.
"Out of all of the members of court, Princess Alysanne was the only one who did not bend the knee. She did not swore her obeisance, rather she said she will remain unbowed, unbent, and unbroken as Dorne."
There was a string of silence. Queen Alicent was displeased while her second son had his brows raised.
Alysanne grabs her goblet and has it filled wine by a servant. Immediately, she drinks it like a deserted man dying of thirst, having it bring her stomach to a searing boil.
"Anyhow, where had Aegon been all this time?" Alicent questioned her second son, changing the topic of discussion.
"Fleabottom, but I'd wager he does not frequent the Street of Silk like we suspected. Instead Cole and I found him at the Sept, being captured by the Cargyll twins. Had we were a second late, we wouldn't have been able to catch them."
"Thank you, Aemond."
"You're welcome, mother. Though I do wonder. Who could have sent the Cargyll twins after him? Was it you?"
"No, but I will look into that. For now, let us pray to the Gods that your father shall rest for eternity and his rightful heir be given a blessed ascension to the throne." The pious Queen said, clasping her hands together.
"Before that, I want to make a toast." Aemond said. "To my wife, for remaining loyal to our cause."
"She swore no obeisance-"
"She needs not to, my Lord. For she is my wife." Aemond interjects, silencing the Master of Whispers.
Lord Larys smiles aslight. Hesitantly, Alicent raises her cup and they follow but Alysanne looks down, colored. It were not necessary for him to defend her, or was it? When Alysanne has emptied her plate, she was taken to the Queen to her bedchambers, concerned when the doors were locked.
