*5 days later*

The sun was setting as Aurora slowly made her way towards the house.

She stopped in front of the old beaten door as she took a deep breath and raised a hand to knock

She hesitated as thoughts began to swarm her mind

This is ridiculous what am I even doing?

What if he doesn't even know who I am?

She shook her head ridding herself of these thoughts before raising her hand again and quickly knocking three times before she could talk herself out of it

Holding her breath chewing at her lip nervously she waited for an answer

After what felt like a lifetime of waiting staring at the paint that was peeling off the door she could have sworn her heart stopped for a second as she heard shuffling inside and murmuring of voices coming closer to the door

This is it she thought to herself

After the click of the door unlocking it slowly opened revealing a curly haired girl with a look of confusion plastered across her face as she cautiously eyed Aurora up and down before speaking

"uhhh, can I help you?" she asked, voice laced in confusion

Aurora cleared her throat nervously "uh yeah hi, okay so uh this might sound really weird but-" she cut herself off from her rambling and took a deep breath before spitting out "I'm looking for my brother"

Aurora mentally cursed herself so much for keeping it cool

She composed herself before speaking again "his name's John B Routledge I was told I'd find him here"

There was a beat of silence as the girl at the door just stared right at her before her former look of confusion was replaced with anger

"Are you serious?" she questioned, voice filled with accusation and slight disbelief as she leaned slightly out the doorway looking around as if expecting to see somebody else hiding somewhere around them

" I- Uh.. what?" Aurora swallowed anxiously looking at the girl with wide eyes trying to figure out why she seemed so pissed at her

"Do you think this is a joke or something?" she began angrily voice starting to raise slightly "is this funny to you, one of your little kook jokes right?"

Okay now Aurora was really confused

"kook jokes?.... wha-"

"yeah well you can run back to your little kook friends and tell them to shove their stupid little jokes up their asses"

"Wait no I-" she was cut off my the door slamming shut in her face

Aurora stood in shock watching the flakes of paint fall from the door the to the floor from the force in which the door was slammed

Well, that went well
