You might be asking "what if I wanna befriend a certain ghost?" well this book has the answers for you! Let's start off with what happens when you befriend a ghost!

If you befriend a vengeful ghost, they'll usually drop their whole hostile/angry facade while you're around.
If you befriend a mournful ghost, they'll be more happy with you around and probably tell you sad stories about why they mourn.
If you befriend a fearful ghost, they'll stay with you most of the time, not really leaving your side, kindof like you're their protector now.
If you befriend a forgetful ghost, you're probably their new friend they're gonna remember, sometimes you'll have to help them remember but they'll catch on quickly with you on their side!
If you befriend a neutral ghost, you just have a new friend, though they'll also become less hostile while you're around, not starting any hunts, etc.

Almost all these ghosts have something similar in the process of befriending them, you need to gain their trust.
Now let's talk about how to befriend these ghosts, let's start off with the vengeful ghosts, though they're pretty hostile you can easily befriend one, you just need to gain their trust, that's it, though it's usually a long and tedious process though you get the result you want if you do it correctly.
Next is the mournful ghost, you'll usually have to just be around them and hang with them when they absolutely need it, you'll gain their trust in that way.
Now for the fearful ghost, this is very different from the mournful ghosts, you have to first make sure that they become comfortable around you, though it takes a bit, you'll need to keep your distance at first but after, you can be near them as much as you want.
Next up is the forgetful ghosts, these ghosts are super easy to befriend, they won't really remember anything so helping them out is the best way to befriend them, though you could also manipulate them if that's really what you want.
Lastly the neutral ghost, it simple really, it just like how you make friends with normal objects!
