"Happy Birthday!" Chris screamed as the clock hit midnight, he ran to her side and hugged her. Everybody else smuggled her with 'happy birthdays as she thanked all of them.
Matt was the last one to congratulate her.

He pulled her into a bear hug as the friend group mostly awed, except for Nic. "Happy birthday Olivia," He whispered as she smiled.

The first time Matt had said happy birthday to her, she hoped it wouldn't be the last.
He kissed her cheek and then her forehead.
Matt loved giving Olivia forehead kisses.

"Your nineteen! how does it feel?" Sab asked as Matt let her go.

"I don't know you tell me, I have been 19 for like a minute!" Olivia joked as most of them laughed.

"We should go and get something to eat!" Madi spoke as she pulled Olivia in for a half hug. "It's twelve am?" Nic said as Matt shrugged.

"I don't mind, where do you want to go?" Matt turned to Olivia as she looked back at Madi.
"Ihop?"

It's like Madi could read her mind.

"Oh my god! YES"

"Ihop at midnight hits so hard," Marcel said as he grabbed Nic's hand.
"Then let's go!" Matt said grabbing the keys.

"Table for nine!"

The hostess walked away with the fakest smile on her face to prepare the table for the big group.

Matt grabbed Olivia by the waist, placing his hand on her stomach, and pulling her flat against him. Olivia blushed smiling, as Madi laughed at how happy her best friend seemed to be.

"I love how you guys are in like... that stage," Ness said as she pointed to them.
"What stage?" Matt asked as he laid his head on her shoulder.

"Like you guys are still blushing over every little thing you guys do and giggling every two minutes, it's so cute," Ness explained as both their faces turned red a tomato.

"That's like the cutest part of being in a relationship," Marcel said looking at Nic, to which Nic just rolled his eyes.
"It's cute when you do it. But when they do it it's weird," Nic said as Matt laughed into Olivia's neck causing her to pull apart from him. he still held her hand.

"Yeah, I kinda agree. I love them together but it's very weird," Chris said with a smile on his face.

"Like dont get me wrong, I love seeing them happy, but it's weird because Matt has 'hated her' for so long," Chris said in air quotes.

"What do you mean 'hated her'?" Olivia said letting go of Matt's hand while Matt gave Chris a look.

"Oh, It's just--"

"The party of nine?" The hostess interrupted the conversation as they all turn around.

"Yes,"

"Okay right, this way!" She said grabbing menus and silverware.

Everyone followed behind her.

"Can I have another milkshake please?" Olivia asked the waitress as she happily nodded.

"Yes of course, and quick question. One check or separate checks?" She asked as they all responded separately.

Olivia went ahead and explained how they were all separating the check.

"No, I'll be paying for her," Matt corrected Olivia but mainly talking to the waitress.
"Okay! perfect! I'll be right back," The waitress walked off as Olivia turned to Matt.

"Hey, I could have paid for myself. I didn't mind--"
"I mind. It's your birthday you shouldn't have to pay," Matt said as he kissed her forehead.

The whole table was in their own separate conversations. Matt took the opportunity to actually talk to her.

"I finally said happy birthday to you. Can you actually believe it?" Matt said with a strange smile on his face.

She nodded her head giggling.
They kept getting closer.
Matt looked down at her lips and then back at her eyes.

"Would it be too bad if I kissed you?" Matt said looking back down.

Olivia was speechless.
"Um yes... friends don't kiss," Olivia whispered the last part as he rolled his eyes.

"We should be friends that kiss," Matt whispered in her ear as she nodded trying not to blush.
"You know it's against the rules,"  Olivia said a little more loudly than she would like.

"Rules?" Marcel said as she widened her eye.
"You guys have rules? what for?" Sab asked as she smiled at Ness.

"um..." Olivia started but couldn't really think of anything. She looked up at Matt and he nodded.

"We made a rule to not kiss in front of friends, we don't wanna be that couple," Matt said everyone nodded agreeing.
"I hate those people, they are so annoying," Madi said rolling his eyes.

"It was Olivia's idea," Matt said kissing her temple.

They made it back to her apartment as Olivia sipped on her third milkshake of the night.

They had set up the living room with an inflatable mattress for them to watch movies all night.

It was already 2 am.

Olivia plopped down on her couch as Matt sat next to her, covering them both in a blanket.
"OH! We should watch tangled now," Olivia said as they all agreed, sitting or laying down.

halfway through the movie, Olivia felt Matt's arms circling around her waist.
He pulled her in close, spooning her.

Almost everybody was asleep and if they weren't, they were about to.

"What are you doing?" Olivia asked as Matt furrowed his eyebrows.

"Spooning you?"

"Why are you tho?" She asked confused as he rolled her eyes, which she could not see.

"Can we not cuddle? Is that also against the rules?" Matt asked jokingly as she nodded her head no.

"No, but like... You don't have to pretend now..." Olivia said as he stayed quiet.

"I wanna test out the word on the streets," Matt said as Olivia wiped her head back confused.

"What word? Are you calling me-"

"No. Everyone is always saying how you are the best cuddler," Matt said as she nodded, understanding.
He took the opportunity to kiss her forehead, one last time before he went to sleep.

"If you wanna test out the theory, you have to be a little spoon, duh," Olivia said making Matt laugh.

He thought it was a joke, but she was dead serious.
"Oh, you're for real?" He asked surprised as she nodded quickly, smiling.
he turned around as she quickly cuddled onto him.

a couple of minutes go by of the movie playing in the background. Matt grabs one of Olivia's hands and starts playing with her fingers.

"I'm trying really hard to stay awake," Matt commented, still keeping her hand on his.
"Why?"

"I really wanna finish watching your favorite movie," Matt said as she smiled.
"It's fine, we can watch it another day," Olivia said resting her head on his shoulder.

"Good night Matthew," Olivia said pulling her hand out of his grip turn off the tv.
The room went dark, you could only hear their friend's snores.

He quickly grabbed her hand back, once she set it down.
"Good night Liv," Matt said as he snuggled more onto her.

And they both fell asleep like that.
