Matt came home that night around 2 am.

He had stayed talking to Amelia, he realized she was actually really nice than everyone made her seem.

She gave him her genuine advice and how he should talk to her as soon as possible. Of course, he wanted to but he couldn't go do it at 2 am.

Once he got home, he quickly went to Chris' room, but he wasn't there. Chris was probably going to sleep over at Olivia's today.

He walked up the stairs to Nic's but he saw the lights on and Nic and Marcel laughing.
He didn't want to interrupt.

So he went to his room.

He couldn't sleep much that night, he was very excited and giddy.

When he woke up that morning, he heard people outside in the kitchen. He smiled remembering the plan he had made with Amelia.

He quickly got up, brushed his teeth, and walked out.

There everybody was,
Chris, Madi, Nic, Marcel, Haley, and Olivia.

He smiled at everyone.
"Good morning," He mumbled as Madi scoffed.

"Good morning? It's 2 in the afternoon," Madi said as Matt quickly looked at his phone.

1:47

"Oh shit... I came home late last night," As soon as he said that he regretted it.

The look on Olivia's face, made him want to go back to his room.

"He was out with Amelia," Nic rolled his eyes as Matt did too.
Everyone groaned as Matt sat down at the kitchen table.

"She is actually very nice, and we are friends," Matt said as he looked over at Olivia, who was already looking at him.

She quickly looked away.

"Anyways... what are you guys making," Matt said as he signaled to the oven who was clearly on.

"Cookies!" Marcel said as he nodded, The awkward tension was driving everyone insane.
Olivia stood up and walked next to Matt.

"Can we talk?" Olivia said softly, everyone seemingly being on their own conversation but paying close attention to Matt and Olivia.
See the same way that Matt had the plan to talk to Liv, she had a plan to talk to him.

"Uh, sure," Matt stayed put as she widened her eyes and signaled to his room.

He quickly got up and walked to his room, closing the door once they were both inside.

"What did you want-"

"You can't keep doing shit like this Matt," Olivia interrupted Matt as he looked at her confused.

"Doing what?" He asked actually confused.
"Yesterday's post?"

"Oh..." Matt sheepishly smiled but his smile quickly faded away as he saw her face.
She hadn't looked at him like this in a long time.

"Wait... Dont be mad at me," He spoke in a desperate manner as Olivia widened her eyes.

"I am not mad," She stuttered as he nodded.

"I am just disappointed," She quickly said as he rolled his eyes.

"Sound like my mom," He tried to joke but she didn't laugh.
"Tough crowd,"

"Matt. I am asking from the bottom of my heart. Can you stop causing drama, please," He widened his eyes at the tone she took, and before he could even open his mouth to talk, a knock was heard.

"Come in," Matt said loud enough as Chris peaked his head in.

"My mom is calling you," Chris said as he stretched his hand out with Marylous contact name flashing on the screen.

"You Answer, I'll be out there in a second," Olivia said as Chris nodded and closed the door.

"I won't cause any more drama... I promise," Matt lied as he grabbed her hands.
He knew what he had planned to tell her, would cause even more drama.

She looked down at their hands intertwined.
Her heart beat quickened.

"I have something to tell you," Matt whispered, they were close enough for him to lay his head on top of hers.

Olivia looked up at him.

She knew.

She still hated the power he had over her.
He would just have to look at her a certain way and she was ready to do everything and anything.

These last few weeks have been confusing, she was using Vinnie just because Matt seemed to move on so quickly. All these confusing signals from Matt drove her crazy, and even tho she could say how much she hated him, that was such a lie.

But with him looking at her like that, like he used to.

It made her go back to step one.

The Olivia that longed to be his friend,

The Olivia who hated him,

The Olivia that was head over heels for Matt,

The Olivia who was heartbroken by their fake breakup,

It was like all the past had boiled into one singular moment.

They both felt it, she would drop Vinnie in a second for Matt, and he knew that.

A knock was heard through the room as they pull apart a little.

"Olivia, my mom really needs to talk to you-"

"Give me a second Chris," Olivia started as She looked back at Matt.

"No- Please. Come out here," Chris' voice sounded hoarse.

Both Olivia and Matt quickly turn to look at him.

His eyes were glossy, and he had tears streaming down his face.

His hand held out her phone, with Marylou on the other side.
Her contact picture being the one Sandy, Olivia, and Marylou took a fourth of July many many years ago.

Olivia quickly walked outside with Matt close behind her.

She looked at everyone's faces.
Her heart rate quickened once again.

Matt looked at Chris, who was just looking at Olivia, he then looked at Nic, who nodded Matts's way.

"Sandy..."Matt muttered as Olivia turned to him.

He watched the light slowly leave her eyes as she picked up the phone and placed it against her ear.

They were all looking at her, waiting.

Her eyes widened as she let a sob out.

Matt heard his mom sobbing on the other end.
Chris quickly hugged his best friend, as her phone fell to the ground.

All you could hear were Olivia's sobs.
"No," She repeated as Matt grabbed the phone and listened to his mom.

"Mom?"

"Matt... Sandy is gone," Mat nodded as tears streamed down his face.

"What happened?"

"The Cancer spread through her body and it was too late. She stopped taking chemo a while ago. She just didn't tell us," Matt looked at Olivia and Chris.

Olivia slowly slid down to the ground with Chris holding onto her.

He quickly squatted down and held her, alongside Chris.

"Everything will be okay," Matt whispered trying his best to comfort her.
Slowly, but surely all the friends sat down and hugged Olivia as she cried.

They were all there for her.
