Mia was in the middle of reading one of her favourite books when Riley entered the kitchen, with an anxious look on his face as he took in the sight of his little sister who seemed exhausted and had a look of worry on her face which made Riley realize that Mia would probably want to talk about it especially since his nightmares are getting worser every night.
The brunette stopped what she was doing, cautiously placing her book on the kitchen table as she turned to face her brother who held a guilty expression on his face as he knew he was the reason why she looked the way he did and even if he didn't mean to hurt her when she was trying to help him overcome his memories when he was in the war that still haunted him to this day.
Whatever Mia had heard or seen must of made her worried especially since she hasn't said a word since he had walked into the kitchen and had just kept of staring at him like she was trying to find the right words not wanting to scare her brother away as she knew he wasn't the one to show much emotion and didn't want to speak of the past just like most men that had been through what he had gone through.
What Riley didn't know was that despite Mia worrying about him, her mind was also on the Shelby's since John had offered her a work proposition at the Shelby's betting shop even though she told him Harry had already offered her a job at the Garrison's he saw how good Mia was with numbers and that she was extremely smart and that they needed somebody like her to work for them.
The brunette knew that her brother would probably freak out once he's heard of John work proposition as he didn't want his little sister involved in the illegal business that the Shelby's do to earn more money. Mia, on the other hand didn't really care on what the Shelby's do and just wanted a decent job so she can afford to get her own place as she can't live with her brother forever.
It was around Eleven in the morning, Riley had a free day due to Tommy that had business to take care off and didn't need her brothers help at this moment of time. Mia had heard Riley talk to John and Arthur about some fair that they would be going to soon not like the three men had questioned Tommy about it because even his family barely knew of his plan until the last possible minute.
Tommy was a mysterious man, even Mia had trouble trying to figure him out but it was what drawn her in as she was curious about the man as he had these walls up built around him hardly showing much emotion much like the brunette herself as she had a past that she would like to be kept buried but sooner or later the past always comes back to bite you back and she was afraid of anybody knowing what she had been through as they would look at her differently.
Mia snapped out of her thoughts when Riley took a seat next to her causing her to let out a sigh as she turned to face him and spoke up, " we should probably talk about your condition" Riley let out a groan in frustration as he didn't want to talk about it but Mia thought it might do him some good seeing as Riley was struggling with reality and didn't know what was the past or the future as she didn't want to see him go down the path of drugs and alcohol just to get by daily as it seems that what he seems to be doing at the moment.
