Chapter 42-Eugene

Monday walked over to a seat near Bianca "Oh my God." She complained "Whoever invented high heels clearly had a side hustle as a torturer."

Bianca gave a small smile "As my dear mother always says, "Fire tests gold, suffering tests a woman."

"Speaking of suffering, where's your date? I didn't see you and Xavier on the dance floor." Monday said.

"We had a little tiff. About you, actually. You don't know what it's like."

"Being beautiful and popular?" Monday asked confused.

"Never knowing people's true feelings. If someone likes me for me." Bianca said sadly.

"What about your amulet?" Monday asked.

"It's not foolproof. It's a mild prophylactic, so to speak. That's why Xavier broke up with me. He could never fully trust me. The worst part is I could never trust his feelings either. I never knew if they were real or not. You and your sister are lucky." Bianca explained.

"Do tell." Monday said

"You don't care what people think of you."

Monday sighed "I know Wednesday doesn't care and doesn't want. Honestly, I wish I cared a little more."

The DJ began to speak into a microphone "It's time for the big finish. Yo! Almost eleven o'clockity, so haul it out on the dance floor one last time before the Rave'N says "Nevermore!""

The DJ began playing Physical by Dua Lipa.

Everyone's on the dance floor dancing. When the sprinkler begins to drip.

Then they suddenly spurted on. But instead of being water it was a thick red.

Everyone began screaming and running around. People were now doused in what hey believes to be blood.

Tyler and Monday ran around searching for Wednesday.

"Let's go!"

Wednesday sighed annoyed "They couldn't even spring for real pigs' blood. It's only paint."

Miss Thorn-hill accidentally knocked into Wednesday.

Wednesday had a vision and Monday got it as well.

"Monday are you okay" Tyler asked as she collapsed into his arms.

"Wednesday! Are you okay?" Miss Thorn-Hill asked.

"Eugene is in the woods. He's in danger." Wednesday said when she snapped up quickly.

Monday and Wednesday ran off "What the hell are you doing?" Xavier screamed at Tyler.

"Texting my dad. He's on his way." Then he asked "Have you seen Monday or Wednesday? I lost them."

"How should I know?" Xavier said bitterly.

The boys were all laughing. "Let's go. That was crazy."

"Come on."

"Get it."

"Let's go."

Enid came outside and saw Lucas with his friends.

"You did this?" She began to sob "I can't believe I fell for your crap."

Lucas looked at Enid "Look Enid, after Crackstone's statue...

"I thought you were different. I thought you liked me." She asked.

"Wolf out! Wolf out!" The boys began to chant and mock her.

" Wolf out!"

Suddenly Ajax found Enid "Get away from her!" He yelled.

"Let's go!" The boys yelled and got in the big van.

"Are you okay?" Ajax asked.

"I didn't even want to go with him. I wanted to go with you." Enid sobbed.

"So why didn't you ask me?"

"Cause you blew me off the other night and never told me why."

Ajax looked down embarrassed "I was too embarrassed to tell you, but I... accidentally looked in the mirror and kind of stoned myself with my snakes."

Enid looked at Ajax as he helped her up and the two looked into each other's eyes. Enid's claws sprung out when the two leaned closer together.

"Whoa. We should, uh... We should probably take it slow. Right?"

"Totally agree." Enid said cautiously.
