Chapter 69-Dates

Wednesday followed Tyler "Last time somebody threw a surprise for me here, it did not go as planned."

"I guarantee this one won't make you pass out cold. But you do have to close your eyes." Tyler explained.

"Are you serious?" Wednesday asked in disbelief "Unfortunately. I'm only doing this because I owe you."

Wednesday closed her eyes and let Tyler guide her "Okay. Watch your step. Wait here. Close your eyes. Okay. Easy. Right here. One second. Okay, you can open your eyes now."

When Wednesday opened her eyes she saw the altar and all the pillars covered in fairy lights.

"What? No one's ever taken you on a picnic inside a crypt before?" Tyler asked sarcastically "How do you feel about scary movies?" Wednesday gave him a look "Prepare to be horrified."

Wednesday sighed "That was torture. Thank you."

Tyler gave a wry chuckle "Okay, don't hate me. I'm just gonna come out and say it. I want us to be more than friends."

"You'll snap out of it." Wednesday assured.

"Don't do that. Discount my feelings." Tyler pleaded.

"I'm not friend material, let alone more-than-friend material. I will ignore you, stomp on your heart, and always put my needs and interests first." Wednesday argued.

"Yeah, you can keep trying to push me away. It's not going to work." Tyler told her.

"I almost killed you." Wednesday added.

"I survived." Tyler argued.

"Beginner's luck."

"I'm tougher than you think."

"You're making a mistake." Wednesday told him.

"Probably." Tyler said as the two got closer.

"Definitely."

Just then the door flung open and the pair heard a gun being cocked.

"What the hell? Tyler." The Sheriff yelled.

"Dad? What are you doing here?" Tyler asked.

"The school groundskeeper found a motorbike by the lake. It matches the description of the one the bank robber stole. There's a canoe missing. Figured he might be on Raven Island." The Sheriff told them before remembering what he had just seen "I'm not going to ask what this is, but I never saw the two of you here. You got it?" Tyler and Wednesday nodded. "Unbelievable. Come on." The Sheriff muttered.

Xavier heard a rustle in a bush "Who's there?" he asked. There was no reply.
The suddenly a tap cane from his shoulder. "Boo!" Yelled Monday and watched laughing as Xavier fell into the grass.
Monday started laughing.

Xavier did not look impressed "Really Monday. At least have the decency to help me up"

Monday sighed in content and gave him her hand but suddenly he pulled her down and they were both on the ground. The two looked at each other and began laughing.

Monday stood up. "So are we gonna carrying on messing around or should we start you archery lessons?"
