Elena's head was spinning. She was drunk as hell.
Wherever she turned, there was people exactly everywhere. She knows that she would regret it tomorrow, but she wanted to thank Damon for inviting all these people.

"Elena! Happy birthday!"
"Uhm, thank you!" Elena said. Right now in this moment she couldn't remember their names. The only thing she knew was that they had gone to the same school.
Elena lost her balance and fell down to the floor. Damn this high heels! she was thinking.

"Be careful with that dress! It was expensive!" Caroline's voice said from nowhere.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for asking ..." Elena answered.

Caroline handed over her own hand to Elena, and helped her up.

"Someone is a little bit too drunk?"

"Shut up, Stefan. It's just the high heels!"

Stefan smiled.

"So you don't want another drink?"

One more drink? Don't think so.

"No, I think I'm going to go outside and get some fresh air."

Elena led her steps to the back door. She tried not to arouse so much attention, but that was impossible. She was the life of the party.

At last, she reached the back door and went outside. Great she was thinking. Finally some space.
It was a calm summer night and the sky was full of stars. She inhaled the fresh air deeply, exhaled slowly, closed her eyes and turned her face up towards the clear night sky.

"Beautiful night, isn't it?"

She opened her eyes again and turned her head to the left where the voice came from. What?
A random girl from nowhere showed up from the bushes. She looked so much younger. Like 15 or something like that.

"It's pretty scary how much you and Katherine are alike." She continued.

Directly when she mentioned Katherine Pierce's name, Elena reacted.

"Do you know Katherine?" Elena asked.

"Yeah, sadly."

It was something special with the girl. Carefully, Elena studied her face, eyes, hair. Also, she tried to feel the scent of her blood, but she felt nothing.

"You're a vampire." Elena pointed out once she discovered it.

"Yup, and so are you, Elena." Nicole answered.

Elena frowned her eyebrows when the stranger said her name.

"Who are you?"

"Oh, who I am is not so important right now. You'll find out sooner or later. And now, where's Damon and Stefan Salvatore?" Nicole said and looked deeply into Elena's eyes.

"In the house. In the living room." Elena replied shortly.

At the same moment

Damon stood at the table where all the drinks had been placed.
Suddenly he felt the weight of a hand on his right shoulder.

"Problem with choosing? Take this one. It's really nice."

Katherine Pierce stood next to Damon and held a glass of tequila in front of him.

"How the hell did you come in? And what are you doing here?" Damon asked surprised.

Katherine looked disappointed.

"You're always so nice Damon and I've been invited by you, long time ago." she answered and smirked.

Damon just snorted and made a valiant attempt to not care about that she was staring at every move he made.

"Haven't you been missing me Damon?"

She stroked Damon's cheek but, he batted it away.

"No, I haven't. Just leave me alone!" Now he started to become upset.

Katherine started to laugh her evil laugh. The laugh that she just had.

"Once upon a time you used to love me more than anything else. Sorry Damon, but I loved Stefan more than you and I still love him ..."

"But I don't love you Katherine ..." Stefan said who suddenly appeared behind Katherine's back.

"Hmm ..." Katherine murmured. She grabbed his neck and looked into his green eyes. "What does that blonde girl have that I don't have?"

Katherine meant Caroline of course. She stood on the other side of the room, but she had her eyes fixed on Katherine.
Probably she had overheard their conversation because it looked like she was shooting daggers out of her eyes in the direction of Katherine.

Once again Stefan met Katherine's gaze.

"She has a heart. But you, Katherine Pierce don't have any."

Katherine rolled unconcernedly her eyes. She opened her mouth.

"You know what ..."

From the table with food, Katherine grabbed a sharp knife and before anyone had time to react, Katherine had stabbed Caroline in her chest. She fell immediately to the floor.

"You are right .. I don't." she finished.
