"hey guys... erm" minho awkwardly entered the noisy kitchen after he stepping in front of his anxious mate. everyone stopped their bickering and stared at the alpha, confused, only to realise that there was a nervous omega hiding behind him.
felix internally cooed, while debating if he should go over to help him. but once minho held the omega's hands and led him into the dining area, felix sat back and grinned at how less anxious jisung suddenly became.
"guys, this is jisung," minho introduced the nervous male beside him, "and hannie, this is chan, seungmin, jeongin, changbin, felix, and hyunjin!" he continued, pointing at each of the person he was introducing.
a series of 'hellos', 'good mornings', 'nice to meet you' was said, and jisung nervously replying them back.
"so jisung, let me ask the most important question. when's your birthday?" chan curiously asked. "w-what?" jisung was taken aback. he thought the leader was going to ask something more serious like joining the mafia. but his birthday?? chan burst out in laughter at the younger's flustered state.
"hyung! don't tease him like that!!" seungmin sighed, smiling softly at jisung, "please ignore him. we only know about you being the same age as the three of us" seungmin explained, gesturing to himself, hyunjin, and felix. "we're just curious who's older than you or younger"
"it's on the 14 september!" jisung answered.
"we're practically twins!!" felix squeaked, "im younger than you by a day. scratch that, by a few hours only!!"
"oh my god! we are twinsies!" jisung jumped up stretching his arm across the table for a five high, to which felix excitedly smacked.
minho stared fondly at jisung laughing with with felix and the rest. he was so excited for his mate to get along with everyone else, and it brought him great joy that the omega was settling in relatively well.
god...he looks so cute eating with puffed up cheeks. squirrel cheeks. minho held back a chuckle, resisting every urge to tackle jisung into a hug, squeezing the boy to release all the overwhelming happy feelings bubbling in his chest.

"wait wait wait! so you two are betas?" jisung clarified, staring that the youngest two with wide eyes. the duo chuckled, nodding their heads.
well, betas aren't rare in the world of mafias. but they're usually the front liners and not on the main leadership team. so people like bodyguards, and fighters. but well, everything is shocking for jisung, especially since he has never seen or 'stepped' into the real world growing up. he was confined to the four walls of his family's mansions, echoing venomous words of his parents. but ever since minho's family technically bought over him, he felt free. he could finally learn new things about the world, the value of life, friendships, and love as well.
"are you sure we can trust you with confidential information?" hyunjin quickly jumped in before anyone could leak out their positions and information. don't be mad at him for taking precautions though. background checks on jisung wasn't done and things like this wasn't discussed beforehand if it could be shared.
a similar incident had happened before. a stranger collapsed at their gates, and since he looked so weak and vulnerable, so they took him in. they accidentally shared confidential information with that new boy, and he turned out to be a spy from the opposing mafia group. needless to say, it started a bloodbath and straykids had to move after that.
"i-" jisung looked at hyunjin with wide eyes. well, everyone did, but they kept quiet. they knew why he asked such question and they knew better to keep quiet and let jisung answer it himself. even minho. all he did was to pull the younger's chair closer just so he could hug him.
"well, i know no one other than family. and i know and trust me, whatever said amongst us, stays among us. no information about you or the group would be told to my family. you can trust me on that." jisung answered carefully. he knew he couldn't tell anyone about his new life. even he doesn't know his siblings's livelihood. all he knows and all they tell him is how well their mates are and how good their life is out of the han's family mansion.
and with a single careful nod from their leader, the boys excitedly told jisung about the world of the mafia. their positions, trainings, and some cool encounters they had.
from all the stories that was told, jisung now knows that felix is their chef and housewife, chan is an all rounder leader, minho is an all rounder second-in-command, changbin is a swordsman and a fighter, still training to use firearms, hyunjin is an fire-armed fighter, seungmin is a sniper, a hacker, and the central communicator during attacks since he sees everything from above, and lastly, jeongin is a co-hacker, logistics, and a co-sniper who works with seungmin. ultimately everyone carries their own daggers and gun.
the boys spent the rest of the day doing their own things. movie marathon, baking, sleeping, and investigating.
