[The Next Day]
{Sam's POV}I walk down the city streets, watching as cars drive by. I've been walking for hours. I started walking early in the morning at about 9 or 10 but now its 6 at night. I even past the Panics' house.
I sigh and turn a corner, leading to Aryia's house. Aryia wouldn't mind me coming over unannounced, would he? I keep walking and grab my earphones I have stuffed in my jean pocket. I plug them into my phone and start listening until I get to Aryia's house.[Later]
I finally make it to Aryia's house and I see a familiar car parked in the driveway next to Aryia's. Griffin. I sigh and jump Aryia's fence to the backyard and go through the back door to get into his house. I carefully and slowly take off my ear phones and put them away before walking slowly around the kitchen, peeking my head around the corner into the living room. I then suddenly hear a gun clock.
My breath hitches as I raise my arms up and lean back into my left foot, making me not peek around the corner anymore. I take a deep breathe,
"Who are you and why are you here?" I here griffin say. I grin a bit, I haven't seen this dumbass in forever. I choose not to speak, but to turn around and face griffin. I watch as Griffin's face shifts and he lowers his gun.
"Long time no see Griff. Where's Ayria?" I ask casually with a large, snarky grin on my face. Griffin's mouth falls into a perfect 'O' and his eyes widen,
"Sam?!"
"Yeah?" Griffin lets out a breathy laugh and puts his gun in his pocket and walks up to me, pulling me into a tight hug. I hug him back tightly and smile more. I miss his hugs.
"Why aren't you with Jake right now?" I ask, pulling away but keeping my hands on his arms.
"About that.. we kinda broke up." My mouth falls agape and my eyes widen,
"What?! What happened?" Griffin chuckles, "We're still friends and shit, just we thought it would be better if we broke up. Everything's been a mess back at the house, well, everything's been a mess everywhere, and it was just a struggle to maintain a relationship. It felt more like a stressful task instead of an actual relationship."
"Ooh, yeah, I get that." I nod, moving my hands off his arms and into my pockets.
"Dude, I thought you were dead!" Griffin blurts out suddenly. I chuckle,
"Yeah a lot of people did... I expected them to tell you first about me waking up though, considering you're my best friend and everything." I motion towards him. Griffin nods,
"Yeah, I wish they would've told me. I would've flown out from Indiana faster in a heartbeat." I half smile at that.
"Yeah. I know you would've. That's what it comes to me as a surprise that they didn't tell you first hand." Griffin nods, taking a deep breath. I gulp and pull him into a tight hug.
"I missed you so much dude..." I mumble against his shoulder.
"I missed you too, Sam.." We stay like that in silence until the front door suddenly barges open.
"GUESS WHAT I GOT FUCKERS!![At the Bunker]
It had started to rain half way to the bunker so, I'm drenched. I huff once I place my foot on the solid floor and take a deep breath. I should've grabbed a jacket before I left. I turn the corner and slip my shoes off against the door. I look around and suddenly feel weird, why does everything look so clean? Did Colby clean the place? I peek around and notice theres a new couch, the graffiti is mostly gone, and..money on the counter. I walk over to the counter and grab the money. This has to be about $10,657, all in cash!! I laugh a bit and look around for Colby but of course I didn't see him. I grab the money and head to my room. I stop in the doorway once I see I have a new mattress. Damn, he went all out. I go towards my drawer and pull out my wallet, stuffing all the money Colby left in there. I then stuff my wallet back into my drawer and flop on the bed, letting out a exaggerated sigh. I should talk to Colby eventually. It's better we get to know each other and build some sort of a relationship so we both don't end up killing each other. It'll also be easier to work together in order to stay alive while being hunted. It was easier doing so on my own since I didn't have to worry about anyone else, nor did I have to rely on anyone but myself. I sigh one last time, rubbing my face and letting the back of my wrist lay over my eyes. I'll worry all that tomorrow, right now I just need to sleep.... I close my eyes and lay there patiently, until the darkness consumes me for the night.
