Melinda

"Alright, two things. What do the two of you mean with wait and what? Out of everyone here, minus Ria and Vic, you two know fully well the relationship between me and Melinda. And you, what do you mean I knew it?"

Skye starts to ask, and Melinda turns her own attention towards the three agents in question. The gapping looks in Natasha and Clint's eyes makes her shake her head, deciding she can deal with the two of them of them later and turns her head towards Simmons, who is lowering her head.

"Well, it's quite obvious really. It's clear that your relationship is something that goes beyond that of a rookie and their SO. I guess love could have been an option on the table, but it didn't feel right, not that type of love at least so the only thing left, and there is a similarity between you two."

Simmons explains and Skye turns her head towards her and Melinda shrugs, hearing that Tony makes a low comment about the fact that Simmons was right about her and Skye sharing similar traits. This was something they have heard on multiple occasions, especially when Skye was younger. Hearing that people still think this, makes her happy.

"Then why didn't you point anything out?"

Skye asks, still seeing to be lost in it all and Melinda shake her head as Simmons looks up.

"Well, she was the one to point out you seemed to be afraid of men. What was it you said, she was afraid of Fitz."

Melinda points out and she could see how Simmons has a slight blush at this reminder, which makes both Skye and Gwen smile large towards her which makes the young biochemist roll her eyes. Feeling that this, is as good of a time to leave them to it, Melinda turns her attention towards Natasha and Clint. With a nod of her head, she signals that she wishes to speak to them in another room. Natasha takes the lead and they managed to leave the room without anyone notice them.

The red-haired assassin leads them down the corridors and into an office space. Melinda can't help but to wonder how many rooms this tower has and if they are even being used.

"What is going on?"

"Yeah, when did you two get reunited?"

The questions start the moment the door closes behind her and Melinda rolls her eyes.

"A month ago, I was offered a deal I couldn't say no to. My own team and a plane, don't ask any more than that, if you want to know you can take it up with Fury."

Melinda starts to explain, holding up her hand when she sees that Natasha and Clint are about to ask her questions. By mention that Fury is behind it, it will make things easier, at least for her.

"Our first mission was to pick up a Rising Tide hacker that have been hacking into our systems. Turns out Maria missed the fact that the hacker was Skye, and she used the codes they had agreed on to use if she needed an out. I'm saying it now, I didn't realise it was Skye, or Mary that we picked up. I found out when I saw her awake early one morning doing tai-chi in only a tank top."

She continues to explain, not finishing what she had seen, the look in Natasha and Clint's eyes tells her they already know what she is thinking about.

"Now, there is something very special I need to talk about you two. I know Skye, Maria and Victoria doesn't want to know what the two of you did the foster family you picked Skye up from, but I need to know, to make sure they got exactly what they asked for."

At her request, Natasha and Clint turn their attention towards one another. There was a hint of worry in their eyes and Melinda can fully understand them on this.

"What do you know?"

Natasha asks, instead of answering her question.

"She told me what happened in that house, she didn't realise this until afterwards. She is finally starting to open up about her past and what I learned... What did you do to those people?"
