Steve sighed to himself as he was packing for a week long trip, it was gonna be a surprise for Herobrine if it went right, Steve wrote a note 'I'll be gone for a week tops' he ripped it out of his notepad and left it on the table, in case Alex came round looking for him, putting his notepad away. Steve picked up his bag and left his house heading north to go to Notch's mansion.

Herobrine was sitting on his thrown bored out of his mind. Steve hadn't even came round today, not even a note or anything, and it as starting to worry him. What if something happened to him and Herobrine can't go there to save him even, he frowns as he got up and walk to a window where he could see Steve's portal from, he rested his head on his arms on the window ledge 'please be ok, Steve' he thought to himself.

It had taken Steve 3 days to get to the city where Notch lived. he looked at it from afar then put his hood up so no players would recognize him. He walked through the crowds of players but stopped as he reached the middle of the city. Notch's mansion. Steve took a deep breath as he took his hood down and knocked on the two giant doors. A player with 1 purple eye, as the other was covered with a bandage, answered the door "yes?" they asked. Steve got his notepad and wrote 'can I see Notch, please?' and then showed it to the other player, they read it "wait here" they said and Steve nodded as the player closed the door.

Notch was in his office, at his computer, when Echo came in "Notch, Steve is at the door" Notch looked up and nodded "thank you, Echo" he said as they left and Notch teleported to the front door.

Steve was waited until the door opened again to show Notch "Steven, my boy! how are you? what brings you here?" Steve smiled and put his notepad away 'I'm good, but I need to talk, is that ok?' he signed Notch nodded "of cause, follow me" Notch said letting Steve in and walking to his office with him. They both sat down in the office "so what is it that you want to talk about, Steven?" Steve seem nervous 'well it is about your brother' This caught Notch's attention "what about him" Notch asked 'I got to know him, he's my friend' he signed blushing a tad as he looked away slightly 'I want you to set him free, let him leave the Nether' Steve added.

Notch hummed seemingly thinking until he finally spoke up "alright, under one condition" he said making a contract appear along with a pen setting them down on the table in front of Steve "you have complete responsibility over him" he said. Steve picked up the pen 'responsibility?' Steve questioned Notch nodded "if he is to, lets say, set a village on fire you will have to pay up to all the villagers" he explained, Steve looked to the contract 'responsible over Herobrine huh?...' he thought to himself as he signed the paper with his name.

Notch smiled and took the contract "great let me just release the portal patch, and your portal will deactivate but just light it like normal and it should be fine" he explained to Steve, who seemed really excited. Steve got up 'thank you, Notch!' he signed happily as he left to make his trip back home.

Notch laughed softly watching Steve leave, he saw what was going on but he couldn't stop it he gave his players free will if Steve wanted to be with Herobrine then he'll let it happen.

Steve came back home, it had taken another three days to get back home. Alex ran over to him "Steve!!" she shouted as she hugged him tightly "where did you go?" she asked as she pulled away. Steve took out his notepad and wrote 'I went to Notch for that friend I told you about'

"alright..." she said a bit suspicious of him "who is this friend anyway! you've been talking about them but I haven't seen them yet!" Steve blushed and wrote down 'you can now...and his name is Herobrine' he swallowed as he showed her. Alex blinked "you're friends with the God of chaos?" she said in utter disbelief, of cause her brother first real friend has to be a literal god. "you said I could meet him? how? isn't he stuck in the Nether? you know I'm not going there!" Steve chuckled at his fast talking sister and wrote 'I went to Notch and now I'm responsible for any damage he might do' Alex read it "hmm well I guess you better get him" she said acting happy for her brothers sake.

Steve was really happy, he brought Alex in pointing to a chair and she sat down "wait" he said softly to her as he grabbing his flint and steel from a chest and went downstairs to his basement, he saw the deactivated portal and smiled to it as he lit it and then went inside it, as soon as he had entered the Nether he was attacked by a hug off Herobrine. Steve squeaked, as he didn't expect that, he looked to Herobrine who was hugging his side he blushed slightly "B-Brine?" Steve asked softly "where was you?" Herobrine looked away but he was still hugging Steve, Steve sighed feeling guilty for not letting him know. Steve pulls away from Herobrine 'I'm sorry, but I have a surprize for you' he signed smiling softly to Herobrine. Herobrine blinked "what is it?" he asked Steve, who was practically vibrating with excitement, 'I asked your brother if you could come back to the overworld and he said yes under on condition' Herobrine raised an eyebrow in question "and what is that?"

'I'm responsible for any damage you might do' Herobrine blinked, Steve agreed to this so he could be free from the Nether?, Herobrine hugged him again "thank you" he said to him. Steve smiled more and hugged him back. They pulled away and Herobrine looked to the portal "can I?" he asked Steve, pointing at the portal, Steve nodded. Herobrine took a deep breath and went through the portal.

When Herobrine and Steve came through the portal Steve took his hand and went upstairs with him "Alex?" Steve said barely above a whisper, yet it was probably the loudest Herobrine has heard him talk, "yh?" came back a louder more female-like voice

As they both came back upstairs Alex stood up in shock at seeing the God of chaos right in front of her "Wow-you wasn't kidding huh?" Alex said "H-how did you even befriend the God of chaos?" Herobrine huffed and crossed his arms looking away "I'm not the God of chaos" Steve giggled at his reaction, he grabbed his notepad and wrote 'I don't know but we are friends!' Steve showed Alex, Alex sighed and started to talk but Herobrine wasn't listening he was staring out the window, Herobrine tapped Steve's shoulder "hay Steve?" he asked as he looked to Steve "hmm?" Steve asked looked back to him "can I go out?" he asked interrupting Alex, he felt stupid for asking but Steve was responsible for him, Steve nodded 'just be careful and don't cause trouble' Herobrine did a playful gasp pretending to be offended "now why would I ever" he smiled chuckling as he teleported outside. Steve smiled and chuckled at his reply and Alex started talking to Steve again.

Herobrine was sitting on a branch, in a tree, he lays down facing the sky as he smiled softly he did like night time better but he had missed the overworld in general for so long. He sighed smiling more as he closed his eyes just enjoying the afternoon warmth.
