Please Don't Go

Alex's trauma/Steve's eating disorder

Herobrine had been living with Steve for 4 weeks now, they both didn't mind it they both liked each others company, but Herobrine had noticed something off. Though the 4 weeks Herobrine had been living there Steve had only eaten 4 times, it was starting to worry Herobrine as he knew mortal needed food or they would die.

Steve was outside working on building a barn for some animals, Alex had came by and asked if Steve would look after some of her farm animals which Steve had accepted so now he was building a barn for them in time for autumn so they wouldn't get cold. Steve felt his stomach growl as he was over working himself, he ignored it like normal, but it didn't go unnoticed.

Herobrine teleported next to him "Steve?" he asked, Steve stopped what he was doing and faced Herobrine, "I'm gonna go out" he told him. Steve nodded 'have fun' he signed as he went back to building the barn. Herobrine teleported to the plains biome that was outside Steve's dark forest biome, he looked into the distends and saw Alex's house he teleported over and knocked on the door. Alex opened the door "H-Herobrine? why are you here?" she asked as she looked around "where is Steve?" she asked Herobrine signed "that is why I am here...I wanna know why doesn't Steve eat?" Alex's eyes widen she sighed as she opened the door wider "come in...I'll explain" Herobrine nodded and went in he sat down and Alex sat opposite him. "when I was 15 and Steve was 17. Steve had fainted and I had carried him all the way to Notch's mansion..." she said as he remember back

Alex banged on Notch's doors, after a while of Alex banging on the door, Notch opened it to Alex holding Steve, who was past out, Alex was crying her heart out "P-Please H-Help him, Notch" she begged him through her tears.

Notch got in to action and took Steve from Alex teleporting the three of them to a room, where he placed Steve down on a bed, "Echo!" he called, after a minuet, Echo came in "yes, sir?" 

"I need an I.V drip and my laptop pronto!" he said to them as they seemed to jump into action and ran off getting everything Notch needed.

Steve was hooked up to an I.V drip and to Notch's laptop. Alex came in "...is he ok, Notch?" she asked, sniffling a bit as she had been crying, Notch faced her "yes he is stable and I know what is wrong with him"  Alex went over to him "what is wrong with him?" she asked, Notch magicked up a chair, "sit and I'll explain" he told her as she took a seat and faced Notch "He has a bug, every player does, but most of the time they are caught early on and controlled...it seems Steve was overlooked and his bug, specifically ARFID type-"

"ARFID?" Alex asked Notch nodded "Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder" He explained Alex hummed in thought "well it makes sense...he has been avoiding food more and more lately..." Notch sighed "his bug has caused some serious damage to his code...I was only able to salvage a bit but it should be enough that he can eat a few thing again, I had asked Echo to get him some salmon as if I coded it right he should be able to eat that" Alex got up and went to her brother, she took his hand, "I hope it works" she said softly as she started to tear up

Alex took a shaky breath, she didn't wanna start crying. "and...when he woke up he did eat the salmon...after some serious convincing and getting him out of panic attacks, but he did at it and from that day he wouldn't eat anything else other then salmon once a week" Herobrine looked down "surely there has to be something else he can eat?" Alex nodded "there is! but getting him to actually eat it will be the tricky part" Herobrine sighed "did Notch say if there was a specific type of food he could eat?" Alex looked deep in thought "hmm... sea food?" she questioned thinking back "but I'm sure Notch himself can help" she suggested. Herobrine huffed "if I don't have to see him I'm not going to" he said as he looked away. Alex  shrugged "well you can try get Steve to eat but except a panic attack or something cause that is what always happened with me" she explained. Herobrine got up "I'll make sure he eats...I have to try first before I go to Notch for help" he said as he teleported away. Alex blinked and sighed "Bye then..." she said going back to what she was doing before Herobrine had came over.

Herobrine teleported home and was taken back by what he saw, Steve was laying on the floor past out, Herobrine teleported to his side and quickly got him inside on the bed "Steve!" he shook him, after a few seconds, Steve groans "H-Hero?" he asked softly and Herobrine sighed out of relive "what happened? are you alright?" he asked Steve.

Steve looked away, he know exactly why he had fainted, 'I must just be tired, brine' Steve signed trying to reassure Herobrine. Herobrine shook his head "we both know why Steve" he said taking his hand "you have to eat more, Steve" Steve took his hands away and looked down shaking his head no. Herobrine sighed and made him look up gently "hear me out" he said "...I'll finish up the barn then I'll go get some food for tomorrow, cause I want you to try something other then salmon" he added waiting for Steve's response '...I'm scared' he signed 'but I'll try' he added slowly Herobrine smiled "good" he said as he got up "now rest I'll go finish the barn" he said as he left

Steve watched as he left, he got up out of bed and sat on his double chest near a window were he could see Herobrine working on the barn. 'I have to eat more' he thought to himself, his breathing becoming uneven just at the thought of trying new food, he took a deep breath to calm himself down 'I have to for him' he thought as he laid his head down on his arms which rested on the window ledge. Steve's eyes go heavy as he watched Herobrine and he eventually fell asleep.

Herobrine put his hands on his hips as he looked at the finished barn, he looked to the time. 'took me half an hour, not bad' he thought as he teleported back inside. Herobrine didn't see Steve on the bed he instead Steve was asleep on a chest asleep at the window, he chuckled softly at the sight, he picked him up gently and put him to bed. Herobrine looked around for a fishing rod to help him get some food but then he felt a soft hand pull him down to the bed "stay" Steve said tiredly. Herobrine was blushing, not only cause Steve talked but he wanted him to stay in bed as well. "I still need to get you some food" he told Steve. Steve just hummed and cuddled closer to Herobrine, who was now basically trapped. He sighed and wrapped his arms around him "alright then" he said, softly smiling.

The two had fallen asleep but Herobrine had woken up early and got quite a bit of food. Herobrine was cooking some crab for Steve and himself. There was some shuffling behind him and after a second he felt Steve tap his shoulder. Herobrine turned and face him he smiled "morning" Steve smiled back 'what are you cooking?' he asked his hand shaking a lot. Herobrine sighed "it's only crab...go and sit down and it'll be ready soon" he told him as Steve swallowed nervously as he went and sat down at the table. Herobrine finished it and put Steve's plate in front of him and then sat down with his own food. 'you eat?' Herobrine chuckled "Unlike you I like to eat, but don't need too" he explained then ate some of his food "now go on eat" he told Steve.

Steve looked down to the food, he was very very nervous, he picked up his fork and poked at it a bit. It didn't seem wrong, which was a good thing, he cut a bit off with his fork and picked it up putting it in his mouth. As he chewed it, it all felt wrong; the texture, the chewiness, it was all wrong, it made him gag and he ran to the sink spitting it out. Steve staired down at the chewed food as his body was shaking uncontrollably. Herobrine teleported over putting a hand on Steve's back "hay it's alright I got some salmon, I can make you that" Steve shook his head "n-no food" he said as he started to cry, hugging Herobrine as he cried into his chest.

Herobrine looked down at the broken man, he wrapped his arms around him and held him close. 'I guess I have to see Notch' he thought to himself.
