seven / a challenge in disguise

"It's been quite a long time, isn't it?"

A simple question that made Beomgyu feel out of this world. Maybe it's because of his voice that he didn't know he missed. Although this still feels like a dream, he needs to give him a convincing reply.

He smiled, "Yeah, maybe. It's a good thing that we've met here, again. We all deserve this break after being so busy."

Taehyun walked closer beside him, and they both stared at the stretched horizon that almost kissed the waves of the sea.

"A trip with no cameras and no judgments. We can finally be ourselves. This trip will surely make us feel... free." Taehyun reassured and Beomgyu hummed in agreement. The wind blew some strands of their hair as they indulged themselves in nature's serenity.

Beomgyu needs this. He needs this moment of silence with Taehyun's comforting presence.

Sometimes, his mind went back to a few months ago. To those times he despised the sight of him. How his face reminded him of his undying embarrassment. And how the man made him question everything he feels.

He's right since the beginning.
Taehyun is different.
Not in a bad way.

He feels the other's gaze on him so he can't help but meet his eyes. Taehyun took a step closer; now they are only a few inches from each other.

Beomgyu's breathing stopped. His heart began to race. Seeing him up close made his mind haywire.

Taehyun's gaze is overwhelming. Beomgyu watched every move he was making; how his lashes flutter and pupils grow-- scratch that. He took a deep breath and reminded himself once again. He can't let this feeling win. He can't let himself be swayed by the spells that surround the other man.

Taehyun uttered, "Beomgyu, I have something to tell--"

"Hey, guys!" Kai's voice rang through their ears, cutting the young man's words. They both turned their heads to him, faces asking questions.

"Let's take a picture with everyone, come on!"

Taehyun chuckled and turned to Beomgyu, "I'll tell you later."

Beomgyu watched him follow Kai and that's when he steadied his breathing. "Fuck," he murmured, "This is bad. Oh God, this is really bad. I can't let this happen."

He curled his hand into a fist, "You hate him, Gyu. He made you flustered in your own show and rumors started because of his... questionable actions. You should avoid him."

His gaze moved to the others who are having fun. He sighed at the sight, "Great, now I'm talking to myself instead of enjoying this trip."

He sauntered towards the group and displayed his usual grin while greeting the others.

This trip may be a challenge in disguise.

Beomgyu successfully met everyone. He was shocked to see some famous actors like Kim Taehyung and Jisu. He also met the soloist Park Jimin and the famous vlogger named Lee Heeseung. There are also some people he didn't get to have proper conversations yet who are Minjun and Yongsun.

The moon began to show up and everyone was sat in the beach sand, forming a circle with a small bonfire in the center to keep them warm. Some bottles of gin and beer were also there to entertain them.

Each of them started to tell stories to get more comfortable with one another.

Taehyung began while swinging the bottle of beer in his hand, "Last week, something bizarre happened to me."
