Warmth is the only thing I feel. Her smile makes my heart beat faster. Her touches leave a tingling feeling all around. I smile as I watch her run around the wide breezy grass field. Her white fluffy dress spreads out as she lightly twirls. Then she sits on the picnic blanket we prepared.
She calls out my name which snaps me out of my trance, motioning me to come over with her hands. I slowly jog towards her, stumbling on my way. Giving her a light laugh as I sit next to her. She pats her lap indicating for me to lay my head on it. Her soft blue eyes lock with mine.
I quickly break the eye contact to lay down. I feel a soft hand rubbing against my scalp. I relax, letting out a small sigh. I sense a small tug on my hair as she brushes her fingers across my ruffled hair. My soft smile quickly turns into an uneasy frown.
Something is off. Something was bothering me from the start. I can't seem to open my eyes. I lay still, trying to focus on my surroundings. I can't feel my surroundings anymore. Now that I've noticed, I couldn't hear anything from the start. I couldn't hear her joyous laughter as she ran around the field. Neither can I feel the breeze around me.
My eyes shot open as I hear a familiar sound from my phone on the bedside table. Ray of sun slips in the small gap of the closed curtains, hitting me directly on my face. I let out an exhausted sigh. I didn't want to get up. I turn the alarm off then roll to my side, seeing the messy room I am in. I see an empty canvas I left yesterday. In the middle of the room, facing right at me.
I slowly sit up, looking at the walls that had a lot of small paintings hanging on them. Though a big photo hangs lightly on the wall. A photo of my sweetheart and me. Her blue eyes shone brightly, reflecting the sun. Her wonderful smile showed how much she was enjoying her time. While mine matched hers. The picture made my heart ache as I stare at it longer. I quickly look away as I feel her eyes lock with mine. Breaking the eye contact quickly.
"Oh, how could you leave me so early, love." My voice filled with sorrow can be heard in the empty room of mine. I chuckle to myself sadly as I push the blank canvas away. Losing all the interest I once used to have.
I walk out of my room, going to the kitchen picking up an oh-so-familiar-looking object. I walk back to my room at a steady pace, yet I still stumbled due to my clumsiness. As I slowly entered the room, I approach the photo. I take it off the wall to examine it closer. I hug it tightly as if my life depended on it.
"We'll meet again, my darling," I say as I put down the picture, not wanting to break it. I slowly raise the sharp object I am holding on to. Then quickly plunge it onto my stomach. Oh, how painful it is, but I'm sure it'll be worth it if it means I would be meeting my sweetheart again.
I grip my stomach as the pain was unbearable. The color red staining my white unironed clothes as it slowly stained my hands as well. I pull out the knife to speed up the process, dropping the knife on the ground as well. Slowly losing my balance, I grip onto the closest thing to me. The white blank canvas. My blood-stained hands tainted the plain-woven fabric, painting it a crimson red.
I slide down the floor as I gradually lose the clear vision of my surroundings. My vision becomes darker as the only thing I could hear is my rapid breathing. I close my eyes, slowly giving in to the darkness that is swallowing me. I gently lay on the floor, my mouth curving up into a small yet pained smile.
"We meet again, angel..."
