𝕱ive days ago, Harry showed up unannounced at Darlene's apartment, knocked on the door until his excited knocks turned into full on pounding and Darlene had to haul him inside before he could cause a commotion and make it to the front page of The Daily Mirror the next day.
The reason?
He'd just begun planning a work trip — more like inspiration retreat — to Japan and more than anything, he wanted the girl he's absolutely smitten with by his side.
She kind of panicked.
Almost yelled.
Went down with a headache and took a nap for two hours before walking out of her room with a resigned look in her eyes and a sense of calmness exuding off her to find him watching 'The Office' while anxiously biting down on his already chipped nails.
One look at his forest green puppy eyes and she couldn't resist.
So here she is, five days later, being ushered onto the flight to Tokyo, Harry's hand gently resting on the small of her back and a new sense of dread swimming through her.
She's never been out of the country with a partner before.
There was just never a chance to, most trips she took with people she considered partners — that would be two in total excluding the brunet now skimming through the in-flight magazine beside her — ended in pure disasters.
She's just never been one for spontaneity or the amount of patience needed to stay for quite long in someone's — someone she was in a romantic relationship with — company.
And she really agreed to go to the other end of the world with Harry for almost a month?
I just wish I'd stop digging my own grave for once.
"Hey. You alright?", he asks softly, slipping his fingers through hers tightly gripping the armrest.
She's excited but scared.
A very bad combination.
She smiles quietly and rests her head on his shoulder.
"I will be once you sing your new album for me".
A cute laugh escapes his lips.
"That's gonna be quite a while then. You sure you can handle not being alright till then?".
A smile tugs on the corners of her lips.
What was she worried about again?
"Yes. I think so", she kisses his jaw, his cheeks turning the lightest pink and all her anxiety just evaporates into thin air.
