𝕬 loud ring startles the blonde awake.

She pushes off the mattress groaning as she crawls over to the edge of the bed where her phone lays neglected and buzzing for her attention.

Snatching it off the coverlet, she rubs her eyes to let them refocus on the caller id and a sad, exhausted smile forms on her face at the name flashing on the screen.

She picks up bringing the phone up to her ear.

"Hi, darling".

She sighs rubbing the drool off the corner of her mouth and plops back down, slowly grinning at the nickname.

"Hi".

"You sound tired. Did I . . . . shit, you were napping. I'm so sorry".

He sounds genuinely apologetic and she would've probably yelled at him for disturbing her when she'd been catching up on lost sleep from the night before having stayed up for a considerable amount of time to talk to him on the phone, and then this morning just as she'd thought she'd sleep in for a while her mum had called her asking if she could babysit her brothers for a couple hours.

But weirdly no matter how much she wants to scream and shout and complain about him constantly disturbing her, she just can't bring herself to voice any of it out.

It hurts because it's Harry and he'd understand.

But she doesn't want to sound like a brat, he's out there away from everyone working all day long and she's complaining about not getting the right amount of sleep while regularly interacting with her family and friends?

Don't be annoying, Darlene.

"No, it's um . . . . don't worry. I'm happy you called. Your voice alone makes everything better", she feels the tiny smile tugging at her lips.

Harry exhales, "I know you're lying. Please don't lie to me. You were sleeping. I disturbed you".

"Yeah but I miss you, don't I? Seriously, don't worry about it. How's the album coming along?".

He hesitates before replying, not quite being eager on changing the topic.

"It's good, really good. We've got a few songs ready, still needs a lot of work though".

"And when do I get to hear them?", she turns on her side drawing patterns on the bedsheet with her finger.

He smiles at the thought of her listening to the songs that are nearly good to go, the ones that might just be unmistakably familiar to her.

"Soon. I promise".
