Giyu nods in acceptance and asks to continue with learning more about Sanemi's world. In which Sanemi excepts and continues.

It's around 5 when Sanemi asks his first question about Giyu.

"Now that you've heard about my world tell me a little bit about yours." Sanemi shifts his posture, engaging into a new topic for once.

"Mine?" Giyu asks back. He wasn't predicting Sanemi to ask about it.

"Yeah, what are things like down there? No one's ever seen."

"Um, well there are no restaurants. Usually we only eat fish, but sometimes we eat other sea animals. It like an all you can eat thing; if you find food you want you eat it." He starts. Some of the terms he use come from Sanemi.

"And we don't wear clothes, besides girls, they wear clam shells. There's a few games to play, like tag, or catch with some of the things we find from your... place? I don't know what to call it."

"Yeah, we just call your world the unknown, but I guess you guys can call us like....uh, land people. Or like landfolk? It is difficult to not name us something weird and cringy." Sanemi admits, scratching his head.

"Tell me more, like can you talk to other mammals or just animals?" Thanks to his quick thinking, Sanemi was able to keep the conversation going without being weird. Seriously, the overthinking from earlier was completely useless. But this was nice, Sanemi liked talking to Giyu. He was a grave change and difference from his friends-or even family for that matter. The closest was Obanai, and he still, was nothing like the merman.

"We can't talk to animals unfortunately, but manatees, dolphins, sharks, and sea otters seem to understand us. It's like some basic commands we say they understand, but it's even harder for us to understand them cause they don't speak. But their body language usually makes up for it."

"Seriously...not even a few myths of yours say that merfolk could communicate with animals?" Sanemi didn't believe it. Honestly it was a bummer. And kinda lame. They're so similar to humans. They just live in the water. He really thought they would be more different.

"No, we do have myths, but none of them talk about us being able to have a one-on-one conversation with them." Giyu also now understands that the two kinds of people are very similar.

"But you still have myths right?"

"Mhm."

"Tell me about them."

Giyu was shocked, Sanemi was so interested in him. Maybe just about his kind, but Giyu still felt some way about it. He couldn't describe it; a fluttering feeling. Sanemi looked so different than him and Giyu only found that even more intriguing. Especially his eyes. Giyu had seen humans before and looked at their eyes from afar, but Sanemi's were special. Was it normal for someone of his species to think like this about someone from another species?

"Um.. the myths date back to a long time ago, when sharks were born. It's unknown of when the first merman came but a lot of merfolk believe it was from a sea god. The drawings in the old books are of mermen touching sharks and even riding on them. We don't do that now, we're all too scared. We only talk to sharks to ask them to go the other direction when they come near our homes. But we also did the same with dolphins."

Sanemi was leaning forward, closer to Giyu's face than before. Silently in his mind he knew what he was doing but he didn't care. It's not like he wanted to kiss him anyways. It was just easier for his posture this way, and maybe Giyu would take it as a sign to continue talking.

But that kinda didn't work. Giyu's speaking was slowing down, like he didn't know what to say.

So Sanemi went in for the save.

"Why don't you talk to whales?" He asked.

"Um well, very few whales ever come near us so it wouldn't be necessary to talk to them. And I really don't care that much, I prefer to not talk with animals incase I upset them. Ko-Shinobu said I shouldn't cause I might scare them due to my 'bland personality'. Whatever she meant by that."

"Pfffft."  Sanemi chuckled, soon turning into a snort. Whoever this 'Ko-Shinobu' was, Sanemi was excited to see her.

Giyu's eyes widened after hearing Sanemi laugh. It had been his first time seeing him laugh- first time for a human even. His eyes felt like magnets to Sanemi.

Still laughing Sanemi finally fully opened his eyes.

"That was funny. Who's Ko-Shinobu though?" He asked, finally coming down from his laughing high.

"Her name is Kocho Shinobu. She's a friend of mine, she's also one of our main doctors. I'm often there." Giyu explains.

Sanemi nods at the name fix. He further asks, "Cause you're hurt, or cause you wanna talk to her?"

"... usually because I get hurt often. I hang out with my other friends if I'm bored. But usually it's the other way around and they wake me up just to hang out." He admits. Head hung low from guilt of always being hurt. He remembers how Sabito is always just as hurt as him just as often.

But his recent visit when Giyu was there shocked him.

So Giyu asked another question.

"Do humans know we exist? I know you said that we were more like a myth but to people really believe we're real?"

"Hm, oh not really. Like I said, it's a see to believe thing. Only crazy fisherman who want to prove it to everybody else. Or bounty hunters who always get scammed. Except me. I'm not crazy or a bounty hunter. Just a regular adult among the rest of society." He took a breath, "That somehow got really lucky to see one."

"Crazy thing though, I'm slightly colorblind. So the main colors I can see are brown, green, blue, and colors that are dark like that."

"Really? So you can't tell what color some things are? Isn't that a little bad?" Giyu asked. Color definitely helped in the ocean. A simple color can tell you if you should continue going where you're going or to turn around and swim a different direction.

"It kinda sucked in school, but it doesn't really matter all that much now. I've learned how to live with it." Sanemi than stands up and walks slightly foward.

Turning back he asks, "Help me fish?"

By now it was 6 and Sanemi was heading home. The two had discussed about letting their friends see each other and decided in three days they would meet again and Giyu would bring Kocho. They would talk about meeting even more people later. But now, Sanemi was heading home with a bag of fish as Goyu went home and thought about their interaction.

*Three more days.* They both thought.
