___
I won't suffer, be broken, get tired, or wasted
Surrender to nothing or give up what I
Started and stopped in, from end to beginning
A new day is coming, and I am finally free
___
Back at camp, the remaining group sits around a fire cooking up some fish that Andrea and Amy caught that morning.
Morales laughs and points to Dale. "I've got to ask you, man. It's been driving me crazy."
Dale smiles. "What?"
"That watch."
"What's wrong with my watch?" Dale says looking at it.
"I see you every day, the same time, winding that thing like a village priest saying mass."
Jacqui snickers at that. "I've wondered this myself."
Dale glances at the two. "I think i'm missing something here."
Jacqui continues. "Unless I've misread the signs, the world seems to have come to an end. At least hit a speed bump for a good long while."
Morales picks up the rest. "But there's you every day winding that stupid watch."
"Time... it's important to keep track, isn't it? The days at least. Don't you think, Andrea? Back me up here. I like... I like what, um, a father said to son when he gave him a watch that had been handed down through generations. He said, 'I give you the mausoleum of all hope and desire, which will fit your individual needs no better than it did mine or my father's before me; I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you may forget it for a moment now and then and not spend all of your breath trying to conquer it.'"
Amy smiles. "You are so weird." That causes everyone to laugh.
"It's not me. It's Faulkner. William Faulkner. Maybe my bad paraphrasing."
Amy stands. "Sure, Dale." She starts walking away from the group and Andrea looks at her. "Where are you going?"
"I have to pee. Jeez, you try to be discreet around here..."
Everyone laughs again as she walks off.
A minute or two passes and Amy exits the RV. "We're out of toilet paper?" Out of nowhere a walker steps around the door of the RV and takes a large chunk out of Amy's arm. She screams which causes everyone sitting by the fire to snap their heads toward her.
Andrea gasps and screams. "Amy!!!"
The group immediately jumps into action, Lori grabbing Carl. Carol grabbing Sophia. Shane passing out guns and starting to kill the rotters that are appearing out of thin air.
___
Rick, Glenn, T-Dog, Daryl, and Rosanna have been sprinting for a long time. Twenty minutes? An hour? They don't know.
As they're getting closer to their camp, gunshots and screams ring out.
"Oh my god." Rosanna pants.
"Go! Go!" Glenn screams.
___
Back at camp, Jim is beating in walker skulls with a baseball bat. More people have gotten bit, and Dale picks up his shotgun.
