I put the last bit of stuff into the box.
In just a few short minutes I'll be leaving for college.
I got accepted to Florida International University which is just 15 minutes away, and my older brother also goes there, so I'll at least know someone there.
The original plan was to go to college with my friends from highschool and play soccer in college, but that plan went to shit when I found out that they were only my friends because of my brother and his friends, so I dropped them and focused on myself.
It sucked since they were my only friends because when I was ready to go to highschool I didn't want to go to the highschool my dad taught at and be treated differently, so I went to a neighboring highschool.
When I started my freshman year I became friends with some girls on the soccer team who just so happened to be the stereotypical popular girls and I quickly became apart of the group.
It was only the beginning of my senior year when I found out that they were just using me to get to my brother, so I confronted and told them I was done with them, but would be civil with them because of the team, they apologized and everything, but I was done with them.
Even though the plan was to play soccer with them and possibly become a famous soccer player, that's not what I wanted to do.
My mom has always encouraged my siblings and I to follow our dreams and become anything we wanted to be. She got her teaching degree when she had my older sister Emma and she graduated top of her class, and my sister Emma owns her own bakery and is opening up another location, so I have great role models to look up to when it comes to chasing your dreams.
When I was a teenager I really started to get into working out since I had to for soccer and in my sophomore year I went out of my way to help the freshman who needed help with staying motivated and meeting their goal, and I continued to do that into my senior year.
I decided I wanted to become a personal trainer because not only would I help people reach their fitness goal, I'd get to be with them every step of the way especially if it's someone who's trying to lose weight, to be able to help them is just so fulfilling.
It may sound boring, but I love to help people and fitness is a great way to help them stay healthy physically, but also mentally because for some people working out is an escape from their life or whatever anxiety or trauma they're experiencing.
"Time to go sweetie pie!" Mom yelled.
My mom has a nickname for each of my siblings, Emma is love bug, Ace is baby boy, and I'm sweetie pie.
I close the lid on the box and meet my mom downstairs.
My sister and I are replicas of our mother with her dirty blonde hair, that now has some grey streaks because she's almost 50, and her blue green eyes that hold such wisdom and warmth.
She looked at me. "You ready?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'm ready."
We get to dads truck where we find him jamming out, he's a big goofball.
He's really into the song and not seeing we're outside ready to go, so my mom goes up to the window and bangs onto it, scaring him.
