Chapter 10

~~~Charlotte's pov~~~

We walk into the house and there's quite a few people I recognize from my classes or people I've seen on campus.

We go to the kitchen to get something to drink, I going with a soda because I'm gonna ask Tyler to sleep over so we can have our talk tomorrow, I don't wanna be hungover when we have our conversation.

We look around and find the guys, Jaymie finding my brother and going straight to him.

When we came back she sat me down and told me she had feelings for him and wanted to know if it was ok to pursue him. I told her I had no problem and actually shipped them, but I told her if they ever hook up to make sure I'm not home because I don't wanna hear that.

I can see my brother also has feelings for her but doesn't know what to do and if she feels the same way. From the short time I've known Jaymie I know that she goes after what she wants, so she'll probably make the first move.

I look around the room and search for Tyler, I find him talking to a few guys he plays basketball with.

~~~Tyler's pov~~~

I see Charlotte out of the corner of my eye looking over here.

I finish my talk with the guys and turn towards Charlotte, when a guy notices her and goes over to give her a hug, her face lights up and she squeezes him back.

Who is this guy?

My stomach clenches as I watch this all go down, but what really gets to me is when he pulls away from the hug and grabs her cheeks and kisses her.

Numb.

That's the only sensation I feel is total numbness, I turn around and walk out of the room. Tears are already rolling down my cheek but I don't care.

Maybe she pushed him away after the kiss, maybe she kissed him back, but I've never seen her face light up for anyone else like that.

Not wanting to be here anymore I leave the house but not before Ace catching me outside.

"Whoa dude, what happened? Are you ok?" He asked.

I wiped my eye and shook my head. "Not right now now, but I will be eventually."

"What happened?" He asked.

I blew out a breath. "I was just about to walk over to talk to your sister when this guy came up to her and her face lit up when she saw him, they hugged each other and then he kissed her" I said more tears falling down my cheeks.

And to think I was gonna take the step to put everything on the line and see if she wanted to be with me.

"Shit dude, I'm sorry. If you don't mind me asking what did the guy look like?" He asked.

"He's tall with brown hair, has a tattoo of an eagle on his arm."

"Shit, that's her ex Tristan" He said.

That explains the reaction, maybe she's not really over him.

I blew out a breath. "Well, she was happy to see him and I don't want to see that, so I'm gonna head out."
