The waitress comes to our table and takes our orders for drinks as we wait for Tyler to get here.

We're kinda having a double date with my brother and Jaymie.

It's been 2 and a half months since Tyler's accident and he's been getting better, except for his mood.

Unfortunately somewhere in the last 2 weeks he started to pull away from me. I'm not sure if he was in too much pain or I was helping him too much making him feel like he can't do anything himself, but he started snapping at me and telling me he wanted to be left alone.

I tried not to take it to heart since this was not him saying this, but whatever was making him act that way, so after I would leave I would text him letting him know that I was there for him whenever he was ready.

"Did he tell you he was coming?" Ace asked me.

I think back to a few days ago when he said he'd be here.

"Yeah, he said he'd be here, maybe he fell asleep or something."

"Yeah maybe... Let me call him" He said taking out his phone to call him.

We wait as it goes a few rings until he picks up. "Hey man you coming?" Ace asked him.

He furrows his eyebrows. "Remember you were gonna meet me, Char, and Jamie for lunch?" He said.

He nods his head a few times and listens as Tyler talks to him. "Ok, just come here after you're done" He said and then he hung up.

"What happened?"

"He forgot, said I just woke him up" He said.

That's odd, Tyler usually has really good memory, especially if it comes to having plans with Ace or I.

"Have you noticed anything off with him Char?" He asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Like has he been acting weird when you would hangout together?" He asked.

"Not really, but he's been really moody, like one minute he'll be fine and the next he'll be all agitated and pissed off at the littlest thing I do, I guess his physical therapist is really working him hard."

"Yeah, maybe. Do you know if he takes those pain killers anymore?" He asked.

"No, he said he stopped taking them a few months ago because it was making him nauseous."

"Well let's hope so because if not I was thinking he might be addicted" He said.

"Shit I didn't think about that. It was always at the back of my mind, but I hoped it wasn't" I said.

"Me too" Ace said.

"When my uncle broke his arm at work, he got addicted to pain killers and she blamed herself because she didn't want to accept that he could be addicted. Unfortunately even if you are aware of the problem it really depends on the person who's the addict because you can't force them to get help, but hopefully guide them to make the right decision" Jaymie said.
