-Carl-

2 hours after I had walked in on Riley mere centimeters away from stabbing Aiden, I was sat in the living room with a humorous Judith seated firmly in my lap.

Riley sat beside me in his own chair, admiring me as I tilted my young sister back and gradually fed her a bottle of formula.

"You're a good brother," he smiled as Judith greedily swallowed her food, which becoming in worrying short supply.

"Yeah, well, that might not last if we don't find more formula," I replied grimly, voicing my concern, and Riley nodded in response.

"How about tomorrow, you and I go out into town to look for some?" he suggested, which surprised me considering the harrowing experience that he had been through just a few hours ago.

"You sure?" I asked, following Riley's unexpected question, "I mean the last time you -"

"Yeah, I'm sure," he cut me off firmly, "staying in here's only gonna give me time to think about it, and I don't wanna do that, 'specially with pricks like Aiden knocking on my door."

I laughed at Riley's comment about Aiden, even though I don't think that he'd actually intended for it to be humorous.

We sat in silence for a few moments before, sure enough, there was a knock at my door.

"Must've jinxed it," Riley remarked, before standing up to answer the door.

If it's Aiden, I swear to God...

Fortunately, as he opened the door the figure was revealed to be Tyreese and Sasha, whose presence I was grateful for since the two usually arrived to collect Judith for a while and give Riley and I some time to talk alone.

"Hey Tyreese, Sasha," the two greeted our guests with a smile, and they returned the gesture, but were still concerned since the last time they had seen me I was running down the street after a depressed Riley.

"I'm fine," we informed them, noticing their worried faces, and they nodded uncertainly at our insistence.

I walked to the door and gently handed Judith to them, who released a hilarious belch having finished drinking her formula.

"See you guys soon, and don't get up to too much while we're gone," Sasha smirked, as Riley and I grinned in embarrassment.

They always did this - Tyreese and Sasha seemed to take a cruel pleasure in watching Carl and I get humiliated.

They then closed the door and walked back to their home, which was only down the road from Riley's.

"So," I sighed in relief. Having had Judith - who was getting painfully heavy - sat on my knee for so long, my leg was aching like hell, and that was one of multiple reasons why I welcomed the chance of some peace with Riley by my side.
