wednesday surprisingly had not been expelled and she had made a trip to the morgue to investigate the monsters victims. wednesday had discovered that they'd all had parts of them surgically removed like the killer was collecting trophies. raven had been dealing with the lack of her soulself. she didn't know who she was anymore. raven had spent nights sitting with weems trying to figure out how to get her soulself back. raven sat next to xavier in class.
"while most plants reward their pollinators with sweet nectar, many carnivorous varieties turn to sexual trickery or deception." thornhill said.
xavier bent down to grab his book, grunting as he did. "are you okay?" raven asked her boyfriend.
"yeah, i just tweaked my back fencing." xavier reassured the girl as he placed his hand on her thigh. she clearly didn't believe him but she did not question it. to be honest raven felt like a shitty girlfriend. she hadn't been paying much attention to him lately with everything that has been happening with her and the prophecy.
"the orchids produces a pheromone that mimics a female insect, luring the males in. now, once the plant is pollinated. what do the male insects get in exchange?" thornhill asked.
"nada." bianca said. "just like all the guys at the rave'n."
"okay, okay. i know you're all excited about saturday which is why i haven't assigned any homework but i do still need volunteers for the decorating committee."
a few people raised their hand. "what, you're not gonna volunteer? aren't you pumped about disco balls and spiked punch? there's even a dj, mc blood suckaz."
"that feels offensive."
xavier laughed before he bent to put his book back in his bad. thats when she noticed the three large gashes across his kneck. raven knew he would tell her if he wanted too.

"so, i was thinking." raven spoke as her and xavier walked hand and hand down the hall.
"you use your brain?" he teased.
"if i still had my powers i would kill you right now." raven stated.
"you like me too much." he smiled.
"anyway, i was thinking if you wanted to maybe go to the rave'n together?" raven asked.
xavier smiled, "of course, love."
the two arrived at xaviers shed where he likes to go to draw. she walked around the room noticing all the pictures of the monster. "how long has this been going on?"
xavier shrugged leaning against on of the tables, "a couple days now." raven sighed walking over to stand between his legs. she knew wednesday was convinced that he was the monster but raven knew xavier and she knew it was not him. "raven, i swear i'm not-"
"i know. i know."
she placed her hands on his cheeks as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"rae? what if i am this monster and i can't control me doing it and i dont realise i am. what if that is why hes haunting my fucking dreams?"
"its not you, xavier. trust me. i know you and you are too good to be the monster." she slightly wiped the tears that fell from his face.

"you look amazing, rae." enid said.
"you look better enid." raven stated. "i still don't know why you are going with that normie."
"aren't you technically a normie now?" enid teased. "and he asked me."
"still a demon, just without the powers." raven said as someone knocked on the door.
she opened it to see xavier. "wow you look wow." xavier was stunned by his girlfriend.
"i think you left him stunned." enid laughed as she went to go meet with her date. the two arrived at the dance.
"i don't think wednesday is here yet." enid said as raven walked up to her, xavier not wanting to talk to lucas went to go sit down.
"she said something about going to stake out some cave with eugene to see if they catch the monster." raven explained.
"hey aren't you the one-" lucas started to say.
"yeah im the half demon who might have tried to kill you and your friends last year." raven walked away before sitting next to xavier.
"what the hell?" xavier was looking passed his girlfriend.
"what?" she turned around to see wednesday and tyler walk in together.
"why is he here?" xavier grumbled.
as the dance went on raven and xavier were having a great time until the sound of a fire alarm went off and red paint rained down. xavier couldn't help tro laugh when raven licked her finger and went "its just paint." he didn't know why but when she said that the words that floated around in his head was i love you as people ran out from around them.
"come on!" xavier grabbed the girl.

raven had snuck xavier up into her dorm and the two had cleaned off the red paint. as they laid in bed xavier rubbed his hand up and down her arm in a loving way. wednesday walked in and she looked upset more than normal. "whats wrong?" raven asked sitting up as xavier kept one arm around her waist.
"its eugene. hes in a coma." she said with a straight face.
