Johnny Pov

"Fuck." I mumbled after she left. "Fuck." I threw a rock at the water, making a small splash. "Fuck, why did i do that?" I asked myself. She was a good person, she was good to me and i just fucked it up. Why can I never  read the room when stuff like this happens?

"Honey, why are you home so late?" my mom asked as i opened the door. "Got caught up talking to someone," i told her, she nodded. "Talkin'? To whom? Boys about your next dinner date?" Sid said from the living room, making me roll my eyes. Id do anything to have dad back.

"Can you ever shut the hell up?" i asked him, he huffed. "No! This is my goddamn house and im not gonna have some schmuck kid tell me what i can or cant do." he looked at me. I rolled my eyes. "Alright, whatever you say." i mumbled sarcastically and went to my room.

"Johnny, dinners ready," My mom knocked on my door as i set my stuff down. "Okay." i called out, dropping whatever I was doing and walked out to the table. Dinners were usually silent, but not this one. Sid just has to add in the extra bullying like he always does.

"Johnny, are you excited for the All Valley Karate Tournament?" my mother asked. To be honest, i forgot about it. "Yeah, of course." I replied. "You think youre gonna win? Youre nothin' but a scrawny white boy." Sid added his input. "Yeah whatever man, you just use money for everything." I actually said that to him.

"Excuse me?" Sid directed all his attention to me. "You dont care about anyone but yourself! If you fuck up you get them a nice 200 prize possession and call it good." i told him. "Johnny, whats going on?" My mother asked me, but i ignored her. "What do ya want me to say? Im sorry?" he asked me, i nodded.

"Its not my fault you're a fuck up just like you father, youre worse." he told me. "Sid," my mother chimed in. Not like it helped any. "You know what?" i asked, getting up and throwing my napkin down. "Fuck you." i walked away from the table and into my room. I heard Sid grumble some bullshit about me, i didnt care.

I grabbed a change of clothes and walked to the bathroom to take a shower. I tore my shirt off and turned on the water. I kept asking myself 'why wouldnt she want this?' but it was obvious. She didnt really care about what i looked like, its what i acted like. I was a douchebag for kissing her. I couldnt do anything about it now.

Friday

It was seventh period and Monroe wouldn't even look at me. She just stayed off by herself. We usually just trash talk all the nerds in here, but not today. Today we were actually gonna have to do P.E. instead of screwing around. Its not as fun as it sounds.

Gym ended and i walked out of the school to the boys, they were already waiting for me. "What? That chick wasnt a good fuck?" Dutch asked. I shoved him a bit. "I didnt do anything with her." i told him. They all laughed in my direction.

"So you just left us?" Jimmy asked. "I wasnt feelin' too good. Went home." i told them. "I dont even know why im tellin' you lot this. Its not any of your business." i said, looking at all of them. "The business is, you ditched us for some man-woman." Bobby explained. I rolled my eyes. "I did not ditch you, i went home. How hard is it to get that through your skull?" i flicked him on the head, which obviously set some strings loose.

"Cmon man," Bobby said, holding up his fists. "Dont be stupid." i told him, throwing my bag off my shoulder. "Im not." he told me, which led me to the first hit. He blocked it. I kicked him in the stomach, he hit me in the mouth. "Cmon Johnny," he taunted.

He hit me in the mouth a couple good times, blood was dripping from my mouth and my nose. Out of nowhere, Bobby gets a kick in the face. And it wasnt some lousy kick, it was bone crushing. "What the hell is the matter with you?" Monroe asked them, thats when they ganged up on her.

She blocked a few hits and threw Jimmy and Dutch to the ground. "Stop bein' fuckin dumbasses." she paused. Yall say youre friends when you beat eachother to death," she looked at me, then back at the gang. "I could kick all your asses, so watch what you say about me." she looked at the rest of them, then left.

"Monroe." I went after her. She ignored me. "Cmon man," I turned her to face me. "What?" She asked. "I-I'm sorry about last night, it just," I could find the word. "Johnny, don't worry about it." She had a soft smirk on her face. "I've got a game to play in there, I don't really want to be thinking of you." She told me. I nodded and laughed awkwardly. "Thank you." I told her and walked away. I feel like I made the right decision.
