"Are you serious?" Kreese asked me. I rolled my eyes. "You can fight, you're a girl." He said. "I could beat any one of your students." I replied. "Plus we both know I'm going to do what I want, I need your opinion." He huffed. "I won't help you." He said. I smiled in response. "I don't need help. I need a partner."

"Class, we have a guest." Kreese said as he stopped the continuous forward strikes. I rolled my eyes. He really had to put me on the spot, didn't he. "Miss Jane thinks she's better than any of you," he looked to his class. "Prove her wrong?" He looked at me.

"Lawrence," Johnny got up and looked at his Sensei. "No." He said. I repeated his statement. "Why not?" Kreese looked at both of us. "We'll go easy on eachother." I told him. He cocked his head. "Alright, Brown." He looked to Bobby. We had problems with eachother, it would be perfect.

We got in the fighting stance, he was prancing around like a little girl. I struck first, he blocked it. I rolled my eyes, duped him out and got him in the side. One point for me. "Again." Kreese said. I nodded. He struck first, I blocked and grabbed his wrist, getting him to the floor so I could strike his stomach. 2-0. As usual, underestimated.

I hit him in the face and he fell over. "Alright, alright." He pushed me away. "She just broke my jaw?" His jaw wasn't broken. "Hit with the knuckle, not the fist." I told him. I looked at Kreese, then at Johnny. I didn't saw anything to him, I just left.

"What the h bell was that?" Johnny came out of the dojo once the class was done. "What?" I asked him. "How do you know the moves? You've only been to the Dojo like five times?" He asked me. "I guess I was taught the same thing." I told him. He rubbed his neck in response.

"Can we talk?" He asked. I turned around and looked at him as I was getting in my car. His face dropped as the engine started, but I poked my head out the window. "Are you comin'?!" I yelled. His smirk returned and he got in my car.

-

"What'd you want to talk about?" I asked, opening the food we got as we sat in the parking lot of a Dairy Queen. "What I did Thursday," we said. "I told you not to worry about it." It was true. I almost forgot about it. "I'm not worrying about it, I just can't stop thinking about it." he told me. "Same thing," i said, taking a sip from my coke.

"Youre saying youre embarrassed?" i questioned. He paused for a second. "Yeah, basically." he mumbled. "Johnny," i looked towards him and laughed a little. "For the record, that was my first kiss, im embarrassed." he smiled at that. "Youre joking." he told me, i shook my head. "No way. No first kiss is ever that good." i laughed. So did he. "Are we okay?" I asked him, he nodded. "Were good."

"Why dont you come over tonight," Johnny asked me as we drove home. "What?" i asked. "You know, like a uh, uhm, sleepover." i laughed at that. "What are we? 12?" i asked. "Oh come on, if you get mad you just walk across the street." he suggested. I rolled my eyes. "Fine." he smirked. "See you then."

Once i got in my pajama pants and sweatshirt, I walked over to Johnny's house. I knocked on the door and he answered it. "My mom and Sid are out, they wont be back until later," he opened the door for me, i walked in and looked around. It was a hell of a lot nicer than my house, not to mention cleaner.

"Nah nah nah, come here." He grabbed my wrist and pulled me to a door which led to his basement. It was filled with Karate ribbons and trophies neatly displayed on the shelves. He also had a training mat and a couple wood boards shaped like a person.

"When you and Bobby were sparing, what'd you do?" he asked, standing on the mat. "What do you mean 'what did i do'?" i asked him. "Oh you said somethin' like 'hit with the knuckle' or whatever." he explained. I smiled.

"Dont move." i told him, standing close to him. I put my middle knuckle against his jaw line. "Feel that?" i asked. He nodded. I put my fist against his jawline. "Notice the difference?" i asked, he nodded. "The knuckle," i hit him softly. "Its like a bullet, its small and has a strong force. It'll shatter the jaw." i told him. "The fist wont do it as easily." i backed away.

"I used it back in New York a lot, mostly for money." I put my hands in my pockets. "Youre loaded, why didnt you just live off your parents?" Johnny asked. "After my mom uhm, died, my father went off the rails a little bit." i told him, his eyes saddened. "Lets not talk about that." I smiled and put my hands in my pockets. He agreed.

"Youve never seen Rocky?" Johnny asked while putting the disc in the TV. "Jesus." he sat down beside my on the couch as the movie played. It was about 10:30 at night, so naturally i was getting a bit tired. Usually 9 is my bedtime.

My eyes started closing about thirty minutes into the movie, so i kept falling onto his shoulder over and over again. "Sorry," I mumbled, leaning against the couch again. "Its fine." he gave me a reassuring smile. My eyes were lazily held open, so he just got a look. Thats it.

After about 15 more minutes, i couldn't stay awake. I put my head on Johnny's thighs and closed my eyes. I heard him laugh a little, looking down at me. He started his running his fingers through my hair. I wouldve snapped at him, considering how curly it was, but i didnt. I was too damn tired to car.
