"Oh honey, you can't wear that to the beach." Jules said as I walked down the stairs. I was wearing shorts and a sweater, it is October, it is getting colder. "You're gonna freeze your limbs off, put on a pair of jeans, it'll look better with a sweat anyway." she told me, i nodded and went back upstairs to change.
She was right, the jeans did look a lot better with the Blue Kacey boots. I paired it with a white shirt and red flannel, paired with a light brown canvas jacket. "This better?'' I asked, going down the stairs. "Much better hon, now go have fun. You have school tomorrow so don't be home too late." she pointed to me as i left the house, so fun.
I walked down to the beach, Ali smiled and walked over to me. "Sorry I'm late," I said looking at her. "That's fine," she pulled me over to her little friend group and sat me down. "Guy's this is Monroe, I met her yesterday." Ali said, trying to start a bonfire, she failed miserably.
"Who's the little friend over there?" I asked, sliding a match across my Christopher and throwing it on the dry grass. "Oh that's Daniel," she blushed. "He's from New Jersey." she explained. "You got a thing for new people do ya?" I teased her, she just lightly pushed me in response.
Something had hit me on the back of the head, making me almost fall face first into the fire. "Oh jeez, I'm so sorry," the tan boy said, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Sure," I said a little sarcastically. He looked offended. "I'm messin' with ya man, it's fine." he just let out an awkward laugh in response.
Ali stood up and gave me a dirty look as she did, pulling Daniel to the side and doing something with the soccer ball. "You better watch it," one of her friends said. I laughed a bit. "Watch what?'' I asked. "She doesn't like when other people flirt with the guy she likes," one of them added. "Too bad i don't care what she likes.'' I continued to roast my hot dog.
"Oh god," Ali came back, almost crying. "What?" I asked, looking up at the cliff, seeing motorbikes. "What's wrong with bikes?" I asked, knowing it was about the people, not the bikes. "It's my ex boyfriend." Ali said, i just shrugged and got up.
"Hey Ali, I wanna talk to you." a guy in a helmet said. "Just leave me alone." she looked away from him. "We've been over this, i dont wanna talk." she said. I walked over to the biker boys, getting a conversation started with the Bobby kid. Man he looked like a nerd.
"Well i wanna talk to you alright?'' The music was turned off. Ali turned it back on. The blonde turned it back off. "What is your problem?" he asked. "Just take your little Cobra Kai's and get outta here." she said, picking up her radio and standing. The blonde stood up too. "Yeah because that's gonna solve everything." he sarcastically grabbed the radio, making me snicker a bit.
"Give me my radio." Ali said, reaching for it. He backed away, right into me. I took this opportunity to grab the radio from behind him and hand it back to Ali. He yanked it from her grip. "C'mon man, you don't have to be a dick about it." I said with a sarcastic smile. "You want it?" he asked me, turning towards me.
"No, not really,'' I mumbled, but that didn't stop him from shoving it in my chest, almost making me fall. "Blondie, was that really necessary?" I asked, handing the radio back to Ali. He waved me off, going back to Ali. I took this opportunity to leave.
I wasn't really one to fight, yeah they're nice if you win them, but are they really necessary? I mean yeah if someone mouths off a couple too many times it's okay to give them a little correction across the face, but starting one? Not my thing. Finishing them? Not my thing. Making things more dramatic? My thing.
I got in my car and started driving. I was a little hungry since my hot dog was thrown in the sand, plus I haven't eaten since breakfast. I walked into the same gas station I got the pizza from last night, just to buy another piece. I mean, I wouldn't be waking up Jules, I wouldn't have to do anything when I got home, i would just go to bed.
I sat down at one of the tables, a coke and a slice of pizza in my hand. I had been sitting down for a few seconds until an older man, maybe in his thirties approached me. "Mind if i join you?" he asked, i nodded. "Yeah of course, i don't mind.'' I moved my things closer to me as he sat the exact same things down.
"John Kreese." he introduced himself. "Monroe Jane." I replied. "Monroe, that's a very beautiful name, is it a family name?" he asked. I laughed a bit. "My mother was a fan of Marilyn Monroe, that's where she told me it came from." I explained to him, and he nodded. "I think it suits you just fine." damn he was nice.
"John Kreese, where does that come from?" i sipped on my coke. He laughed a little. "It doesn't come from anywhere." he told me. "You new around here?" he asked. "Yeah, came from New York." i told him. "You going' to school here?" he asked. "Yeah, senior year, starting' tomorrow." i told him. "One of my students is a senior, Johnny Lawrence. You know him?" he asked, i honestly had no clue who that it.
"Nah, i haven't been here long enough to know anyone." i said. "You teach?" i asked. "It's a Karate DoJo, Sensei." he said. No way, that Terry Silver friend of my dads did Karate. "Really?" i asked, he nodded. "When i was livin' with my dad, he had a friend that taught me some moves. It came in handy at times." i said, he nodded.
"Ahh, i don't think anyone would pick a fight with you, what are ya? Six foot?" he joked. "Nah man, offense is better than defense. I am six foot though." i eyed him. "Atta girl, your Sensei taught you right." he pointed to me as he finished his food. "Now i wouldn't say this to a girl, usually, but why don't you stop by the dojo after hours, I can teach ya a thing or two." he pulled his coat on. "Yeah i'll stop by, whats it called?" i asked. "Cobra Kai, big letters on the highway, you can't miss it." he tightened his coat. "Have a nice night, miss Monroe."
