"Are you sure you want to do this?" Jules asked as I got in her car. "Yes." i replied, fastening my seatbelt. It had been five days since my dad had came her and gotten arrested for attempted murder, i was going to go give him a talk. Only this time a bulletproof barrier would separate us.
"Can i tell ya something?" she pulled out a cigarette. "When my sister, your mom, married that douchebag, i hated him." she told me, i smiled. "Really?" i asked, she nodded. "He was never really put together, he was always askin' for money or he wasnt hygienic, at all." she explained, making me smile a bit. I mean, this conversation was worth missing school.
We arrived at the prison and we both got out. I was dressed in a pair of tan pans, a white button-up underneath a red patterned sweater vest and the black boots i arrived here with. I havent even planned out what i want to say, i just want to tell him im pressing charges and getting as far away from him as possible.
My father was sat down behind a glass window and the conversation started. I wasnt scared, i was just paranoid. "What the hell are you doin' here?" he asked me. "Such a way to treat your daughter." i told him sarcastically, he rolled his eyes.
"Why did you come back looking for me?" i asked him, his eyes filled with anger. "Was it because i was your little money maker?" i questioned. "Was it because your little mouse wasnt there to get you drugs anymore?" i said quietly. "Or did you finally realize you cant live without me?" i taunted farther, making him mad.
"You dont know what the hell youre talkin' about." he said, i rolled my eyes. I laughed a little. "Of course i do. Im not a psychotic dug addict like you." i leaned in closer. "You know whats real funny?" i asked him. "We aint ever gonna see eachother again." i told him. "Remember what i told you, Frank." i stood up. "I dont fuckin' need you." then i walked away.
"That was quick." Jules told me. I nodded. "Wish it was quicker." i told her as we both walked out the doors. I pulled the passenger door open ad got inside, Jules got in beside me and started driving, playing the rolling stones as she did. It was like a movie scene.

"Get a ride from Johnny would ya? Im goin' out tonight, i dont have to worry about that sicko anymore." she told me from the window of the car. I gave her a thumbs up as i walked into the school in the middle of the day, thank god my lunch period was happening.
"How'd it go?" Andi asked me once i sat down at my table. "It went fine, im actually happy i did it." i told her. "Good, trying to take our star player, he must be on drugs." Andi joked. She joked, i laughed. She was telling the truth, but i wasnt going to ruin this perfect meal.
"What'd ya do? Sleep in too late?" Johnny asked me as we stretched. We were the only two athletic people in our gym hour, meaning we were the only ones that used the weight room. "No, i went to see my dad for the final time." i told him, heading towards the bench press and adding weight on it. "That sounds fun." Johnny said as he stood above me to spot me.
"It was fun," i told him as i was between my second and third reps of 130 pounds, lightweight. "I got too see his face when i told him he would never see me again." i let out a small laugh and went down again. "What did it look like?" Johnny asked. "His nose was scrunched up and his forehead lines became more noticeable." i set the bar up and got off the press.
"How did you do that so easily?" he asked, looking at the weight. "I dont know." I told him. He got underneath the bar and picked it up. "Jesus, are your arms made of steel?" he pressed the bar to his chest. "Yes." i told him sarcastically. He rolled his eyes and finished the reps.
We both had gym class 7th hour, meaning we had all the time in the world to get changed and stuff. The school day was over, i was just gonna be late for basketball practice. Its not like anything bad would happen, what are they gonna do? Dismiss me?
–
I walked out of practice by myself, i left early. I didnt really want to stay that much longer. Its like the feeling you get when youve been in a place too long, its like your temper gets worse than usual.
"Hey Money," i turned around and saw Bobby coming from the track feild. "Hi Bobby," i replied with a smile. "Is it pre season already?" i asked him, he laughed and shook his head. "The boys and I went down there to screw around with the soccer idiots," we both looked to the right and saw the rest of the friend group come up, Johnny winking at me as he did.
"Waitin' for me?" Johnny asked. "Kinda," i trailed off a bit. Bobby and the others had already gone back inside the school to do whatever they went to do. "What? Need a ride home?" he asked. I rolled my eyes and nodded. "I thought you wernt expecting anymore rides home?" he asked cockily, making me roll my eyes again.
"I wanna hear you saw it." he told me. "Say what?" i asked, knowing exactly what he meant. "You know what." re replied. I dont do good with apologizing, its usually doesnt happen. He looked me in the eye and waited. "Im sorry," i mumbled. "Hmm?" he mocked. "Jesus Christ, Im sorry Jonny for being mad at you." I said loud and quickly, making him laugh and smile. "Thank you."
"Ill catch up with ya," johnny waved as they all got on their bikes. "If you have other things to do, ill wait for a bus." i told him. "Nah," he waved his friends off. "I dont wanna be around them right now." he said, getting on the bike. I followed behind him and put my arms around his torso like usual.
"Lets say i ditch my friends and we just hang out." Johnny leaned his head back. I shrugged my shoulders. "Whatever you wanna do." i dont him. He smiled and drove on right past our houses. He ditched his friends for me, how thoughtful.
"Whered you take me?" i asked, getting off his bike. "Do you like sunsets?" he asked, a small smile came across my face. We were at a pond on someones property, looking at the horizon. It was all pink and yellow and orange, nothing like i ever saw in New York. it was all just so muh prettier.
"Why ditch your friends for this?" i asked him after an hour of silence. It was dark now, the sky was lit up by the moon and stars. "I didnt want to talk about you all night." he said, i looked at him in confusion. "They all think its great fun to shit talk ya, and Ali sometimes." he messed with a piece of grass. "I chime in on the Ali stuff sometimes, but you," he laughed. "I cant. Id feel guilty." he said. I smiled.
"Johnny Lawrence feeling guilty, who knew that could happen." i joked. "I dont even know why they say it," he looked at me, then back at the ground. "I mean yeah, you have flaws, but they dont look at the good stuff." he said, i pushed a little farther. "Good stuff?" i asked. "Ya know, youre hot, youre funny, you could probably kick all our asses.." he trailed off.
"Id say the same for you, Lawrence." i looked at him and we made eye contact. "Theres a lot of 'good stuff' about you too," i looked in front of me and laughed a bit. "What? Im hot?" he asked seriously. "Yeah, you are." i mumbled. There was a few minutes of silence, and it was awkward. It was like admitting we liked eachother without saying it, or showing it. It was a tense feeling.
I looked at him, he looked right back at me. It was like a split second decision, he grabbed my jaw and brought our lips together. He did. It took me a second to process what was happening, but i gave in after a few seconds. His hand found the sides of my face and neck and held me in place while mine just stayed balancing myself.
I pulled away from him, our faces millimeters away. "Johnny," i whispered. His eyes changed from happy to afraid in seconds, just holding my face the way he was. "I-I should go," i got off the dock and started walking back to my house, embarrassed about how i reacted.
