Wedding preparations had been driving Visenya to madness. Jewellers, seamstresses, hair stylists, and even cooks had been ever present in the princesses quarters from the moment she woke until she got ready for bed at night for what felt like months. It was exhausting.

It was finally the morning of Visenya and Aegon's wedding, a day Visenya had been dreaming of for years. She was woken early by her hand maidens and right away she was bathed with various scented oils and scrubbed from head to toe.

Her mother and sister joined her for breakfast, something light as per her mother's suggestion, and wine to calm her nerves. Though she knew she loved Aegon and he loved her, she was still nervous that something might go wrong. Visenya had only been to a handful of weddings that hadn't resulted in some sort of drama. If anyone dared to ruin the princess's day, they would be met with the wrath of the dragon.

The hair stylist had finished weaving the princess's hair into intricate braids, the Valyrian steel circlet she had dreamt of placed perfectly on top of her head, and as she stepped into the stunning green gown she felt every bit the queen she would one day become. The seamstresses had perfected Visenya's vision, the black embroidery in the shape of dragons and flames took over the sleeves and hem, as if the dress was being consumed by dragon fire, with a sharp V framing her collar bones and the skirt fanning out from her hips making her look like an hourglass. Looking at her reflection, Visenya felt like the most beautiful woman in the Seven Kingdoms.

"Sister, you are truly a vision of beauty," Helaena smiled, lightly wrapping her arms around Visenya.

"Thank you, sweet sister," Visenya replied, lightly kissing her sister's cheek.

A knock came from the door to Visenya's chambers, Ser Erryk popping his head in. "The Lord Hand is here to see you princess," he announced.

"Send him in, Ser Erryk," Visenya called.

Her grandfather entered the room looking happier than the princess had ever seen him. "My granddaughter, you have grown into such a beautiful woman," he complimented, "I remember the day you and Aegon were born, it is hard to believe that today is your wedding day."

"Thank you, grandfather. Have you seen Aegon? How is he?"

"He is fine, he and Aemond are on their way to the litters to take them to the sept."

"And what of my husband?" Alicent asked. The kings illness had been progressing as of late and he had been on bed rest more and more as advised by the maesters.

"The King is ready to go to the sept, however the maesters have advised that he keep his participation to a minimum" Otto explained, "I'm sorry, Visenya, he will not be able to give you away."

"That's fine," the princess shrugged unbothered, "I was going to ask you to do it anyway."

"I would be honoured to, sweet girl," he said, then turned to the other ladies in the room, "might I have a moment alone with my granddaughter?"

"Of course. Come ladies, we shall wait by the litters for you and travel to the sept together." Alicent smiled, ushering the ladies from the room.

Otto led Visenya towards the settee, pulling a long, thin box from his pocket. He opened the box, producing a stunning silver necklace. It was lined with emeralds and diamonds, the metal woven together to mimic leaves and flowers, a large emerald circled with diamonds hanging in the middle. It was beautiful.

"This was your grandmothers, she wore it on our wedding day. Your mother wore it on hers, and your daughter can wear it on hers. I would be honoured if you carried on the tradition and wore it today."
