The great hall was silent after the King's toast. Visenya could hear the hiss of her mother whispering harshly to her husband. Ser Harold and the other kings guards rushing to escort the King back to his chambers.

Rage and humiliation flooded Visenya's veins, she looked to her husband who looked just as enraged as she felt. With her hands shaking in anger, she gripped Aegon's hand under the table. Aemond and their grandfather rushing to resume the celebration.

The band started playing and the chatter slowly started up. Neither newlywed knew what to say to the other. What could they say to make this better? They had been embarrassed by their sick, delusional father in front of every important lord and lady in the realm, and the story would travel with them when they made their way home.

"My loves, I am so sorry," their mother apologised as she took a seat next to them, "your father's memory is fading, he is being taken back to his chambers now."

"You need not apologise, mother," Visenya said with a strained voice, "he sees no one but Rhaenyra, he wishes it was her we were celebrating. But this is our day, we will not let him ruin it."

"Forget them, my love," Aegon consoled, "this day is about us, to celebrate our love."

Lord Jason Lannister approached the high table, greeting the Queen, Visenya and Aegon. "Your grace. My Prince and Princess, I congratulate you on your marriage, I pray to the gods that you have many sons."

"Thank you, Lord Jason." Aegon replied.

"The feast is coming to an end, my prince, perhaps we should proceed with the bedding ceremony?" He suggested, looking a little to eager for the newlywed's tastes.

This seemed to anger Aegon further. He stood, matching Lord Jason in height, though the look of fury on his face made the older man shrink back.

"There will be no bedding ceremony, my Lord," Aegon spat, "do you truly think I would allow you to pass my wife around the lords as you rip the dress from her body?"

"T'was merely a suggestion, my Prince, I meant no harm."

"Thank you, Lord Jason, you may take your leave," Visenya dismissed.

Aegon took a seat only after the Lannister walked away.

"Aegon," Visenya addressed, pulling his attention to her, "perhaps we should go to our chambers now, before anyone else tries to initiate a bedding ceremony."

Aegon nodded, silently agreeing with Visenya. They bid their family good night and made a quiet exit from the hall.

Visenya and Aegon had been moved to new chambers more fitting of a married couple. A large living space with an open fire place, plush sofas, a dining table with a fresh jug of wine, a large book case, and a small balcony with a table for dining outside.

Their private room was off to the left. There was another large fire place, logs burning brightly casting a soft orange glow over the room. The large bed was covered in fur throws and more pillows than two people would ever need.

Visenya was burning with rage. First, her delusional father toasts Rhaenyra and Daemon, in his mind he no doubt thought he truly was at their wedding. They had married in secret after Lady Laena's funeral and the tragic 'death' of Ser Laenor. Then, Lord Jason had the gall to suggest a bedding ceremony. As if Visenya would allow him and the other sleazy lords undress her and grope her as the carried her to her chambers, but Aegon put the lord back in his place. Visenya had never seen him so fierce and she would be lying if she said it didn't make her feel some type of way.
