chapter one
unexpected news•
A smile flashed across his face as hundreds of thousands of people cheered and chanted his name. It felt good. The realization of him finally making it and achieving his dreams almost made him cry.
Evan. Evan Addams - the famous and beloved keyboardist for Exiled Angels. He was known for his solo works as well, separately popular as a soloist who wrote songs based on things he goes through in his life.
Well, they were things that he went through but that still was technically based on his experiences. Just that they've been a while that's all.
You could say he uses them as inspiration.
•
"Great job out there, Addams." a very feminine voice could be heard saying that. Evan looked behind him, seeing their drummer, Lily with a happy expression. She sometimes had an odd 'aura' that made him feel whatever she felt. In this case, he started to feel as happy as the other girl.
He chuckled, nodding in appreciation. "We all did great with the part we played and more." Evan says, and Lily was in awe. "But thank you anyways." A kiss was blown as a welcome.
"So do you have any plans for our 6 month hiatus? Maybe releasing more singles or something like that?" She questions, sitting down on the couch to listen. She really was such a curious person. "I'm not sure about releasing songs, but I'll be going home to California tomorrow. Gonna be attending a reunion in Yandere High School." an 'ooh' leaves the girl's mouth, making Evan snort a bit.
He was excited for the reunion. Sure, it was going to be great to see his old classmates after like 4-5 years, but there was definitely a thing or two that he was looking forward to. A certain blunette and redhead, who were going to be the ones to pick him up from the airport thanks to his luck.
"Hey Evan, your manager wants to see you." Both Lily and Evan turned around to the source of the sound, only to see their singer, Kai.
"Huh. I wonder what she needs?" Evan thought to himself.
•
"You wanted to see me?" Evan says as he entered the fitting room. His manager only nods to the question, making him nervous. She wasn't usually so serious. Was he in trouble? "Did something happen? Did I do something wrong, Stephanie?"
Stephanie sighs, shaking her head. "No, you didn't, Addams-" Evan cringed at that. He had known Stephanie for years and she never once called him that. It felt so weird and it was a foreign feeling to him. "-but we definitely need to talk about something right now because this involves your career."
And that definitely did not help him. He felt anxious and his stomach churned. Digging his nail into his thumb, he gestured to her to continue speaking.
"You need to get a fake partner. Preferably more than one, actually."
What?? Was Evan hearing her correctly? This sounded insane, and he didn't even understand what this all had to do with his career. He knows he's openly polyamorous, but what the hell could being in a relationship help with his career?
"Are you crazy, Stephanie? What in the world has gotten into you?" She rolls her eyes at his reaction, as if he was overreacting. Was this woman fucking high? What has gotten into her? "What the hell does this even have to do with my career?"
"Addams-" She gets interrupted. "Don't call me that again, Davidson." A scoff escapes her lips at the rude interruption. "Evan. I don't know if you've seen what people say about you on social media, but it is not good. For both you and your image." What was she even talking about?? "People are calling you a fraud because of the songs you write that are based on your "experiences"." She emphasizes with air quotes, annoying Evan.
The media was definitely something else at times. Actually immature usually. They really must have nothing else to do with their lives if they're out here being pissed over a stranger they don't even personally know not dating anyone at the moment. How was he a fraud for writing based on stuff that he did experience at one point in his life?
The man rolls his eyes. "Okay, a bunch of people on the internet who are chronically online are saying shit about me, how is dating even going to help me in this situation?" His manager starts to get frustrated at this point. Why did he have to ask so many questions?
"It's to help your image. Now go find partners by the end of next week. If you don't, have fun finding a new manager that would care as much."
He groaned.
