chapter nine

a couple of months have already passed but jaemin is still here, getting more comfortable in this place which scared him the most. because once the portal was open again, he was not sure if he could still come back here.

but if you ask him, jaemin doesn't want to go.

he was more happy here, he found happiness in this place, in this house. he found peace and love. but the more he thinks that he found everything in this place, he can't really be here.

this was not his universe.

"boo!"

"aah!"

his laugh echoed around the house when he successfully scared jaemin, the younger one immediately glared at him because he almost fell on his seat.

"why are you still awake?" jeno asked, he just finished laughing.

"happy?" jaemin hissed, rolling his eyes and pouted.

"i'm sorry, i just can't help not to." he giggled.

jaemin rolled his eyes once again but he remembered the reason why he's still awake, looking up at the clock, it's already past twelve in the evening.

"it's your day!" jaemin suddenly shouted, which made jeno flinch.

"what—"

"attorney lee is finally here!"

jaemin gets his graduation cap and puts it on to jeno who's still curious on what jaemin's doing, the younger one looks happy right now. like he was really waiting for this.

"min, what are you doing?" jeno asked curiously.

"today is your graduation day, right, right?" he asked, smiling.

"uh, yeah?" he answered, still frowning.

"congratulations!" he shouted and clapped his hands.

jeno tried to hold his smile back, and jaemin was being cute in front of him. does he wait until twelve in the evening so he could greet jeno first? this guy really never failed to make jeno crazy.

"i'm the first one who greeted you, am i right? don't lie." jaemin said, giggling.

"you're also the first one who called me attorney lee." jeno said calmly, smiling softly.

"i am?!" he gasped dramatically.

jeno let out a chuckle and nodded.

"tell me, what is this, jaemin? you usually sleep early, why do you need to do this?" jeno asked softly.

"because," jaemin started as he opened the small box on the table. "i want your graduation day to be more memorable!"

"graduation day is always memorable, min." jeno said as he watched him preparing the bento cake.

"shh, shut up." jaemin said. "i said i want your graduation day to be more memorable."

"and how?" his eyebrow raised.

"duh? this pretty human in front of you just greeted you twelve in the evening," jaemin said as he showed the cake with the candle on. "you should be thankful," he pouted.
