Rex sat at his desk, reviewing some mission report that he needed to send to General Skywalker. The 501st were on their way back to Coruscant from the harsh battlefield. They were lucky; not too many men were lost today. It was tiring, they had been on the campaign for about a standard two weeks and the boys were just happy to be headed back to their "home".

Rex should have been sleeping, like his brothers, but he refused to. He needed to get this done. Who needs sleep anyways? He thought. The chronometer on the wall read that it was almost 1 A.M., Rex had been awake for days. He barely slept whilst at camp for the campaign, let alone the time they had been on this Venator. He had bags under his eyes, light stubble growing along his jaw from not shaving it, his usually buzzed blond hair was starting to grow in a little. He'd have to get a haircut when he got back.

Rex yawned, he was getting tired. But he had to fight the urge to sleep. He had more important things to do right now. Rex continues to type away, fingers moving at the speed of light and eyes scanning across the screen just as fast. Within 30 seconds he had already written down 2 full paragraphs.

Suddenly, Rex's typing started to slow as his ears caught the sound of footsteps outside in the hallway. At first he had thought it was just a clone doing his normal rounds, or maybe a droid, however upon further inspection he realized that these footsteps were light and bouncy. Barely audible, almost like they were being tuned out. Jedi.

Curious, the captain stood and slowly made his way to the door of his quarters. He had hesitated opening the door, but decided to fuck it and press the button.

The door slid open with a hiss and Rex peeked his head out, looking left then right. He smiled when he seen the short figure making her way quietly down the corridor. Rex stepped out of his room and cleared his throat. The Togruta jumped at that, turning around and reaching to where her lightsabers would usually hang on her waist.

She immediately relaxed upon seeing it was only Rex. "Oh, hey you scared me." She whispered, coming closer to her captain. Rex raised a brow at her. "What are you doing awake, Commander?" He asked. "What are you?"

Rex crossed his arms, he knew she was very much avoiding the question. "Ahsoka..." He grumbled. He knew his commander shouldn't be awake this late, especially at her age.

Ahsoka looked down at her feet, "I-...I had a nightmare...I wanted to go see you guys to get my mind off of it." She murmured, bringing her head up to see Rex now with a sympathetic look on his face.

"Right......mind if I come? I was about to head to bed anyway." He said. Ahsoka nodded and the two started their trip to the barracks. Rex didn't quite know what to say. While he was familiar with his brothers having nightmares, he wasn't sure how to deal with a Jedi with a nightmare. They were empaths, they could feel your thoughts and what not, they'd know if your were uncomfortable or scared to talk to them about things like this.

But this is Ahsoka. He kept reminding himself. "Are you -uh- are you okay?" He asked, looking to his left where the padawan was. He still couldn't believe that his general Anakin Skywalker got a padawan. Turns out that Ahsoka had instantly become loved among him and his brothers. He doubted some would admit, but they all seen Ahsoka as their little sister. Even if she is technically older than them. They honored and respected her with the highest regard, they always made sure she was safe and well cared for. Whilst the clones knew that having such attachments to anyone —let alone a Jedi—is greatly forbidden. But they didn't care, not when it was their vod'ika.
