I stand in front of the mirror for at least an hour. My mind racing trying to figure out different ways I can tell Sawyer I'm pregnant, again.
I'm glad he isn't home yet and I hope he doesn't come home until later today. I don't think he will be ready to hear what I have to say.
Leigheas is asleep in his crib behind me and I start to pace back and fourth. I might as well should have had twins.
Nancy comes into the room to watch him as I go down for some lunch. Nancy has been a big help and I don't think I would be able to do anything without her and Sawyer. Having a baby shouldn't be this easy.
"She's alive." Drew walks to me squeezes me.
"Alive and hungry." I push him away from me.
"Well, I made pasta." Drew says and my eyes widen.
"Lunch time already?" Evan walks into the room. He greets me with a smile. He's still the only person who knows.
"After I eat, I want to watch Ezra." Avery excitedly says and I nod.
"Came home right on time. I'm starved." I hear Sawyer come into the kitchen and my stomach sinks.
"My famous pasta." Drew hugs Sawyer.
I feel Sawyer looking around the room for me.
"Sorry I'm late." He hugs me from behind and kisses me on the cheek. I can't help but shiver and Sawyer notices. It's not a good shiver either.
He walks around to face me. He smiles, waiting for me to greet him like I usually do but my mind is far away.
"Hi." I whisper with a small smile. Sawyer stares at me for a while. He's thinking and I know he knows something is wrong.
Evan watches our interaction with amusement as he shakes his head at my actions.
"Sorry." I mutter and sit back down. I feel Sawyers eyes on me. His eyebrows crease in concern as he watches me. I make the mistake of looking at him.
"Are you okay?" He mouths and I smile and nod. He gives me a suspicious look but nods. He doesn't believe me.
He sits next to me and holds my hand while he eats.
"Let's have a toast." Drew says as he pours wine into glasses.
He gives me one.
"I can't drink it." I tell him.
"Why not?" Drew questions and Sawyer looks to me.
"I'm breastfeeding, stupid." I roll my eyes. And not because I'm pregnant....
"Right. Forgot about that."
I roll my eyes.
I'm not even hungry. My appetite is gone, especially now that Sawyer is here.
I can feel Sawyer looking at me but I don't give him eye contact.
When I'm finally done with my last bite, I excuse myself. I just need to cuddle with Ezra.
I know never to wake a sleeping baby but I just need to hold him. I rock him back and forth and he quickly goes back to sleep.
I hear the door opening and I know it's Sawyer.
"Opal?" He calls my name and I slowly put the baby down and then turn to him.
"Yes?" I question. He frowns, immediately knowing something is wrong.
He walks over to me and pulls me into a small hug. "Why didn't you come to me in the first place?" He lowly asks. How does he always know? I shake my head in his chest, reassuring him nothing is wrong but he squeezes me tighter not believing me.
