Kat was too busy thinking to focus in class. She never would have expected to hug Remus Lupin while he was crying.

She was curious, more curious than she was before. She wanted to know what went on in Remus's head. All these things that she never questioned didn't make sense, like how Remus would miss school suddenly and come back with a few more scars, or how he and his friends would sneak off into the forbidden forest.

Remus was gone today, the day after he cried in front of Kat he was gone, leaving Kat with all those unanswered questions in her mind.

"Class dismissed!" The professor's voice snapped her out of her thoughts. She picked up her books and looked towards the marauders. They looked the same as they always did, just without Remus. They had to know what was going on with him, they looked too carefree to not know.

The marauder's left the classroom and Kat quickly followed behind them.

"Wait!" She called out to catch their attention. The three boys turned around to see the girl walking towards them.

"Hi, Katherine." Peter greeted. "What's up?"

"Where's Remus?" She asked suddenly. She took notice of how the boys got flustered by her question.

"Oh um he's sick," Sirius answered and Peter nodded along.

"Sick?" Katherine asked making the boys nod quickly. "Does he get sick every month or what? Why does he always disappear then come back then disappear again?" She crossed her arms and rambled.

"He's just...has a weak immune system," James answered after giving his answer some thought.

Before Kat could question them any longer Sirius started to speak, "Well gotta go! Bye Vu!" He said swiftly before dragging the two other boys away with him.

Kat stared at the backs of the three boys who scurried away from her. She sighed at the fact that she hadn't gotten any answers or any true answers at least.

She turned away defeated and made her way to the Great Hall.

After walking through Hogwarts's busy halls she entered the noisy hall and her eyes scanned the room, wondering where she would sit today. She quickly spotted a blonde girl waving her hands over to her, Marlene and Lily smiling brightly at her. A smile grew on Kat's face before she walked over to them.

"Hey, Kitty!" Marlene greeted.

"Kitty?" Kat's face scrunched up at the nickname.

"It's cute!" Marlene defended. "And it matches you."

Kat shrugged before her attention was on the marauders. "Do you know where Remus is?" She asked the girls.

"Remus?" Marlene's gaze went over to where the marauders were and turned back to Kat. "I don't know."

"James said he's sick," Lily explained.

"Does he get sick a lot?" Kat's voice was laced with curiosity and a hint of worry.

Before Lily could respond, Marlene cut her off. "Look at you being worried about him." She teased. "I'm sure he's fine."

Kat looked at her for a moment and Lily gave her a small nod. "I'm sure he's just tired or something."

Kat looked down at her lap. If everyone didn't seem to mind the boy's monthly disappearances, maybe she shouldn't either.

Kat had spent her afternoon in the library, she couldn't add bad grades to her troubles.

Once she had realized how late it was she realized that the library was almost empty. She looked around before grabbing her books and stuffing them into her bag. She threw her bag over her shoulder and walked out of the quiet library.

It wasn't soon before she saw Peter Pettigrew quietly rushing out of the school in an obvious hurry. He looked around before she made eye contact with Kat. His eyes widened like a deer caught in headlights and he gave her a nervous smile.

Before he could run away Kat started walking towards him, only making him more visibly nervous. "Where are you going?" Her voice was suspicious.

"Just getting some fresh air!" He said.

Kat looked outside. It was already dark and it looked awfully scary outside. "But it's dark out." She pointed out.

"I love the dark!" His voice was the same tone as before.

"Can I come?"

"No!" Peter scratched the back of his head. "I like being alone." He turned around, getting ready to march off.

"Where's Remus?" She asked and Peter turned to face her again. His eyes looked down once he heard the hint of worry in her voice.

"He'll be fine." He assured with a small grin. "Just don't come out. It's not safe." Peter said before walking away.

Peter ran off in the cold on his way to the Shrieking Shack. He entered the dark building and slowly closed the door behind him. "Padfoot? Prongs?" He called out loudly. Each step he took made an eerie creaking noise.

He went up the unstable stairs, looking around the quiet building for his friends. A scream left his lips when he felt something grab his feet but his fright was replaced with anger when he heard Sirius's laughter.

"Don't do that!" Peter scolded making Sirius laugh even harder. Peter folded his arms and went over to sit next to Remus. "How're you feeling Moony?"

"Fine," Remus answered tiredly.

Peter grabbed a bar of chocolate from his pocket and spit it in half. "Your girlfriend was looking for you." He laughed at his own words before handing him a piece of the chocolate.

"Who?" This seemed to catch James and Sirius's attention.

"Katherine," Peter answered with a playful grin.

"Really?" Remus's head shot up at the sound of her name. "Yep." Peter nodded before taking a bite of the chocolate.

"She was worried about you in the morning as well," Sirius added. "She definitely fancies you."

"Shut up, no she doesn't." Remus shot back.

"But you fancy her right?" A playful smile grew on James's face. Remus sighed before thinking for a while. "...No."

"Come on mate! You totally do!" James and Peter shared an amused look.

Remus simply rolled his eyes.

"Guys it's time." Sirius pointed at the full moon.

"Hang in there Moony." James shot a smile at Remus.
