I lay down once I reach my dorm, leaving Wednesday to her family business. After putting my headphones in I start reading, ignoring Wednesday return and her start to decorating her side of the room.

I look up from my book to see my cousin scrapping down some of the window paint Enid used to tint the room. I shake my head, getting back to my book.

"What did you do to my room!" Enid's says loud enough to be heard over Taylor Swift. I take my headphones out as Wednesday tells her. "Divided our room equally."

"Looks like a rainbow vomited on your side." Wednesday says, walking over to her typewriter and sitting down.

"I-"

"Silence would be appreciated." Wednesday cuts the girl off, rolling up her sleeves. "This is my writing time."

"Your writing time?" Enid asks and I sigh putting my music back on, way too tired to deal with this. I do watch though as Enid starts dancing around our room. Wednesday approaches the girl but Enid sticks her claws out.

The door opens and Ms Thornhill walks in making the two girls jump apart. "Good evening girls." She says as I take out one of my headphones. "Sorry about the mud." She tells us and I look down to her muddy boots. "Don't worry about it." I tell her, sitting up.

"I wanted to make sure Wednesday was settling in." Ms Thornhill says, taking in the three sides of our room. Enid's colorful side, Wednesday's dark side and my side that's in between light and dark.

"I'm Ms Thornhill, your dorm mom." She introduces herself to Wednesday walking closer to her and dragging more mud through our dorm. "Apologies I wasn't here to greet you when you arrived."

I stand up from my bed, moving towards my friends and taking note of the flower in Ms Thornhills hand. "I trust the girls have given you the old Nevermore welcome."

"Enid's been smothering me in hospitality." Wednesday tells her making Ms Thornhill smile to Enid. "I hope to return the favor."

"In her sleep."

Enid's eye's widen as she glances back to me. I shake my head slightly telling her she won't actually do it.

Hopefully.

"Well here's a little welcome gift from my conservatory." Ms Thornhill brushes past Wednesday comment, handing her the black flower. "I try to match the right flower to each of my girls."

Ms Thornhill doesn't try very hard as she gave me an aloe plant when I arrived. The plant looked pretty stupid next to the white carnation she gave Enid.

"The black Dahlia." Wednesday says, examining the flower. "Oh you know it?" Ms Thornhill asks, slightly impressed. "Of course, it's named after my favorite unsolved murder."

"Thank you."

"Okey dokey. Before I leave, I want to go over some house rules." Ms Thornhill says and we all nod for her to continue. "Lights out at 10, no loud music and no boys ever."

"What's the story about going into the local town?" Wednesday asks. "Passes to Jericho are a privilege not a right. It's a brisk 25 minute walk or there's a shuttle on the weekends."

"The locals are a tad bit warry about Nevermore, so please don't go making any waves, or perpetuating any outcast stereotypes." Ms Thornhill explains, taking quick glances between the three of us. "That means keep your claws to yourself." She tells Enid, her gaze landing on the she wolf. "And no smothering people in their sleep." Ms Thornhill turns to Wednesday.

"Are we clear?" Ms Thornhill asks but the two girls don't answer. "Yep." I tell her after the beat of silence. "Great talk." She tells us, turning to the door, giving us a small wave before leaving.
