I'm sprawled out on my bed, ignoring Wednesday as she pleads with me to come with her and Eugene monster hunting stating it as the reason she told Xavier. "You're just going to lay around here?"

"Why not, it be better than running through the woods in the dark." I tell her, brushing my hair out. A knock on the door cuts her off and she glares at me before moving to open it.

"Tyler?" The girl says, stepping back from the door to reveal said boy in a white tux. I stand up from my desk moving behind Wednesday to look at the boy. "I got your invite." He tells me and I keep my confusion hidden.

"I'm guessing you had Thing drop it in the tip jar?" He asks and I glance over at the appendage who's giving me a thumbs up.  "Yeah, you know he's faster than me."

"You don't look dance ready." Tyler tells me, looking down at my pajamas. "I was doing my makeup, you're early." I say and Wednesday looks at me with raised brows. "Give me like, ten minutes?"

"I'll be sat on that bench." He says with a smile. I close the door, scrambling to throw on some makeup while Wednesday watches. "You don't even want to go to this dance." She tells me as I smack my face with a brush.

"I'd rather be there than with you right now." I say, putting on some lipstick before rushing over to get my dress out.

I slip it on quickly, grabbing a bag and throwing my gloss in it. "Don't die, cousin." I tell her as I open the door.

Walking over to Tyler he stands from the bench, his eyes glancing up and down me. "Wow, you look-."

"Beautiful, gorgeous?" I say repeating my friends words from earlier. "Stunning." He whispers, holding out a box for me. "I don't know, it's something normies do." He tells me and I take out a white flower from the box.

"It goes on your wrist." Tyler explains, stepping forward to help me put the corsage on. "I got my own." He tells me, pointing to the flower on his suit once mine is secured.

"Let's do this." I say, leading the way into the dance loud music instantly filling my eyes. "We're being stared at." Tyler tells me and I glance over in the direction he's looking, finding Xavier and Bianca glaring while Ajax gives me a small smile.

"Don't worry, they're looking at me." I tell him with smirk and he chuckles. "I mean how could they not?" He says and I scoff, turning away from him shaking my head as I bite my lip.

"Delora Addams, you look incredible." Ms Thornhill says, walking over to us. "Thank you, Ms Thornhill." I tell her, glancing between her and the boy beside me. "Oh, this is Tyler-"

"Galpin."

"Uh, yeah." Tyler mutters as I furrow my brows. "Double cap- no foam, two pumps of sugar free vanilla." He says and Ms Thornhill chuckles. "It's a small town. It's hard to keep secrets." She tells me and I nod with a polite smile. "Yeah, I guess so."

"I'll go get us drinks, got to find Enid too." I tell Tyler, squeezing his arm ignoring the shock that goes though my body at the touch. I blink trying to get rid of the pain as I reach the punch table.

I go to pick up one of the blue smoking drinks but arms wrapping around me stops. "I knew it would work!" I head Enid squeal from behind me. "Yeah well." I say removing her arms so I can turn around. "I already bought the dress."

"And you look gorgeous!" She tells me, grabbing my hands in hers. Her normie date walks over with his hands up. "Delora, I come in peace."

"Good for you." I tell him, plastering on my best fake smile. "One tear falls from her eyes tonight, I'll kill you." I say stepping closer to the boy. "Direct." He says his voice cracking which he covers with a cough.
