Enid and I walk into our dorm room, our arms linked just to find Wednesday sitting in the center of our room with burnt out candles surrounding her.

"Whoops, sorry." I tell her, letting go of Enid as Wednesday stands up. "Do I even want to know?" The blonde girl asks, looking at all the candles.

"I was reaching into the black maw of death to contact a relative." Wednesday tells her and the girl makes a face at her. "Which one?" I ask moving closer to the circle. "Goody?"

"I've been attempting to summon her but she seems to be ignoring my entreaties." Wednesday says, walking over to Enid and crossing her arms next to her. "I can try, she's my relative too."

"No, it needs to be me." Wednesday says just before a slip of paper slides under our door. "Maybe Goody answered you after all." Enid says and Wednesday walks over to the door, missing the smirk between me and Enid.

Wednesday picks up the paper, looking disappointed. "I doubt she communicates in magazine cutouts."

The paper read to meet at Crackstone's crypt at midnight for answers so that's where the three of us set off to, lights in hand.

A bird cawing behind us makes Enid flinch and take her claws out. "You insisted on coming along." Wednesday says, stopping in front of the crypt. "We were fine alone."

I set my light on the door as Enid catches up, her claws still out. "Looks like our wanna be deep throat is already here."

"Ew." Enid says, her face matching the disgust in her voice. "What died?" She asks and Wednesday almost cracks a smile. "Smell's like childhood."

"Let's go." I say, ignoring Enid's worried face and pushing open the door. We all slowly walk in, Wednesday shinning her light on every inch of this place as Enid scans the place, her eyes wide.

The three of us get further into the crypt, Enid and I hanging back letting Wednesday take the lead.

I squeeze Enid's hand before stepping off to the side, grabbing a cake I hid out here earlier. "Delora?" I hear Wednesday ask as I light the candles.

"Try anything and you'll lose limbs."

"Surprise!" I hear the hiding group shout and I slowly start walking over, cake in hand. "Happy birthday to you." Everyone starts singing as Thing crawls up my arm, resting on my shoulder a party hat on his sewn wrist.

"Happy birthday dear Wednesday, happy birthday to you."

The girl shines her light in my face, effectively blinding me. "Hey." I groan, closing one eyes. "I should've known you were behind this." Wednesday tells me, looking between me and Thing.

"What part of no party under the penalty of death do you not understand?" She asks me, lowering her light. "What part of your my cousin, I love you and I have free will do you not understand?"

"You disgust me."

"Thank you." I tell her and I feel someone come up behind me. "I thought my cake design was pretty inspired." Xavier tells her and I look down at the grim reaper figurine he made. "The balloon was all Enid." I say, smiling at the pink balloon in the reapers hand.

"Now can you make a wish." I plead, sticking the cake out to her. "This wax is burning me."

Wednesday eyes land on something else and she moves over to it. "It's Latin." She tells us and I sigh, the gust of air blowing out the candles. "No." I groan as she examines the writing.

"Fire will rain, when I rise." Wednesday reads out loud, looking back at me. "That's not really a wish." Enid says and I hand the cake to Xavier before moving over to my cousin.
