"Chris-"
"I know. You're dating Matt."
Nick and Matt walk over to us.
Chris keeps walking forward when Matt and Nick walk over to me.
"Is Chris okay?" Matt asks me.
"I'm not sure. He hates me remember."
Nick walks up to Chris while Matt stays with me.
"You alright? You seem distracted?"
"Yeah, I've just got a lot on my mind with classes and stuff."
I wasn't gonna tell him that I'm distracted because his brother just told me he's in love with me and is hiding it under hatred.
"Well if you want, we can just put our date on a rain check."
"No. No, no, no. I want to go out with you tomorrow. I think it'll help."
Matt smiles and takes my hand as we walk through the mall.

"Chris? What's wrong man?" Nick asked quietly.
"Dude.. I'm in love with Shelby."
"What?"
"I'm so serious. I like her a lot and I thought that I would just get over it if I acted like a dick to her, but clearly it didn't help."
"You know she's going out with Matt right?"
"I know. And I can't hurt Matt like that.."
Nick stops and looks at the ground.
"So what am I supposed to say when Shelby and Matt ask if your okay?"
"Tell then I'm fine. I just have a lot of stuff on my mind."
"Okay.."
Nick whispered to himself.
"Now what am I supposed to do being stuck in the middle of all of this?"
