Theresa's POV
"Theresa! Where is my tea!" My master yells. "Coming right away, Sir!" I say politely. I put everything on the silver tray and bring it to the parlor. I set the tray down on the table and pour him a cup of tea. "There you go Sir. Will that be all?" I ask. "Yes, Theresa. I would like you to turn around." Oh no. "Today is the servant auction and I plan on selling you. But I would like to get the satisfaction of hearing you scream again." He says. I know how this works. I must go down on my knees, and let him beat me. I hear the sound of leather slipping through belt loops. "This is for your own good, Theresa." He says and brings the belt down upon my still sore back. I scream out in pain. It feels like he has set my back on fire. He brings the belt down over and over again. "Alright Theresa. Go change into some decent clothes. The time for the auction comes near." He says. And I obey.

William's POV
"William! Wake up! We are late for the auction." I shoot up so fast my skull connects with James's. "Get out so I can change. Get Sophie to prepare the carriage." I say. He runs out the door and outside. I get dressed in my trousers and my dress shirt. Then I put on a coat and run out of the door. Servant auction, here we come.

Theresa's POV
We are in the carriage. My back is in searing pain. I put on the nicest dress I own, a simple black and white dress, a maids attire. I am not excited for the auction. What if my new master is more cruel than the last? What if he beats me for no reason? Oh I do hope to get this over with. Suddenly, the carriage stops. My master doesn't help me out, he just simply lets my walk down on my own. I'm so nervous. I see a man. A tall man, with a mop of raven black hair. He has the bluest eyes. And beside him, a man with a mass of silvery hair. His eyes are the deepest silver. The blue eyes boy looks at me I look away. I broke my most important rule. Never look your superiors in the eye. Oh I am certainly in trouble now! "Hello there!" I look up into ocean blue eyes. "Hello Sir. Do you need anything?" I ask with a curtesy. "No, thank you. What is your name, Miss." He asks politely. "Theresa Sir. Theresa Grey." I say, a little shaky. "Do you have any nicknames?" He asks. "I do Sir. My nickname is Tessa, Sir." I say. "Hmm. Tessa, I like that." He says. "What is your name?" I say. "If you don't mind me asking." I quickly add. "William, William Herondale." He says. "But I prefer Will." He says. "Everyone, can I please have your attention! Servants. Please come up to the podium, the auction is about to begin."
