Chapter 1
It's already past midnight and I'm still fetching my drunk-ass friend from this bar.
Mahabagin. I still have a lot of topics to study for my retdem this morning and this friend of mine disturbed me!
Ipinakita ko ang ID ko sa bouncer na nakabantay sa labas and he is eyeing me from head to toe like I came from a secluded island.
I'm wearing a gray oversized shirt and a black pajama. Wala akong balak mag-party and I don't have time to change.
I just rolled my eyes at him and went inside.
Some stares did not escape my eyes.
I'm not weird, okay? Damn. Itatapon ko talaga si Maui sa dagat.
I dialed Maui's number but it took three times before she answered it.
"Hello, Mau? Where the hell are you?" I asked annoyingly. I'm lost in the crowd.
"Hi! Are you Maurice friend?" an unfamiliar voice answered.
"I am. Where is she?" I asked.
"We're at the second floor, near the railings, third tab– Ade! My dear! My love! Hihi-" kumibot ang gilid ng labi ko sa inis nang marinig ang lasing na tinig ng kaibigan ko at bigla na lang namatay ang call.
I tried to dial it again but no one answers.
Second floor. Near the railings. Alright.
Umakyat ako sa second floor, not minding the stares. I wandered my eyes in the crowd to find Maui.
Found her.
She's with five guys and 3 girls. Most of them look drunk but not as drunk as Maui.
I walked toward their direction.
"Fuck," I ran when I saw Maui's about to fall.
I was able to catch her, well, I'm not the only one who catched her. Her friends also held her.
Inayos ko siya nang tayo. Thank God she did not fall.
"Maui, wake up," tinampal-tampal ko ang pisngi niya when I saw that she's about to close her eyes.
I saw a group of guys looking at her legs.
"Ade! Let's drink!" matinis na tinig na saad ni Maui sa akin.
"Shut up!" I said.
"You're the one in the call? Right?" I looked at the man who asked me. He looked at my whole appearance.
"Yeah. We need to go now, thank you."
"Let me help you," the guy said. I didn't have time to refuse as he took her arm and cling it to him.
"Thank you."
When we reached the stairs, someone bumped onto me and it made me lose my balance.
I looked at the person who bumped me. I glared at him.
The man has a beautiful face. Not just handsome but beautiful. Anak ba 'to ni Aphrodite?
Tinignan ko si Maui at ang lalaking kasama ko sa pag-alalay sa kanya and it seems that they are not affected by my fall at all.
"Are you okay?" the guy with Maui asked.
"I apologize. I didn't mean to," the guy who bumped me said and took my arm to help me stand.
"Ayos lang, gusto mo matry?" I said habang pinapagpag ang pwet ko. I looked at him and give him a sarcastic smile.
Tangina mo.
We reached the parking lot. I pointed where my car was parked. We put Maui on the back seat at ang tangina sinakop ang buong upuan at natulog.
"Nice car," komento ng lalaki.
"Thanks and Thank you, again," I looked at the guy who helped us.
"No problem. Are you both going to be okay?" he said.
"We will basta hindi lang siya sumuka," I said. Natawa ito sa sinabi ko.
"Anyways, thanks again, we'll go na," paalam ko rito. I went to the driver's seat.
"Wait. By the way, I'm Caelus. Just in case she'll asked you about today," pahabol nito when I was about to close my door.
"Noted, Caelus."
"And, what's your name? if may I ask," pahabol muli nito. Daming tanong, reporter ba 'to?
"Ade. Bye na ha!" paalam ko. Last na 'yon. I closed the door and starts the engine. I saw Caelus step back from my car to let us go.
I looked at the mirror to check Maui and mukhang mahimbing ang tulog niya. Sana all na lang talaga, 'no?
"Adelaide, I don't want to go home."
I looked at Maui's face on the mirror and let out a frustrated sigh.
What a great start of my day.
