The Bond With The Brothers (2.1)

Sounds of laughter and the clinking of porcelain tea cups fill the crown princess' quarters in the palace one hot afternoon.

It was 5 months later after the crazy events in the palace when finally the official mourning period for the late queen dowager was lifted and was officially declared over.

CheongHa couldn't really participate in much of the activities and events that was going on during those tumultuous 3 months due to the advices given to her from the royal physicians indicating for her to take it easy since it was after all... Still her first pregnancy.

But despite the slow burn of those hectic months, she was still glad and happy since it gave her a much bigger  opportunity to grow a bit closer to most of the primary members of the extended royal family. But most important of all, she had found herself forming a much greater bond with her brother in laws (Yes!!! We mean both the grand princes and the princes)

Back to the present scene, Grand Princes Ilyeong, Gyeseong, Muan and the Princes Bogeom and Hodong all cramped into their sister in law's quarters munching on the small snacks and sipping on the tea CheongHa had prepared for them.

The princes all enjoyed visiting the crown princess whenever they came by the palace. One of the reasons was basically to just make fun of Seongnam behind his back.

Embarrassing him by telling his wife all the little gossips and stories about him being a lovesick puppy whenever someone mentions her and also mixing it with some personal embarrassing stories from their childhood.

Knowing CheongHa, she just enjoyed hearing anything related to her husband since she did also love him as much as he did also love her... And now that she was carrying their first child and was asked to simply stay in her quarters most of the time. She enjoyed nothing more than to sit down and listen to stories about him.

'Believe me when I say his eyes have never light up like that before.... I've been with him since I was born so you can trust my words. Hyung-nim has only ever smiled like that to binggung mama.'

CheongHa giggled as Grand Prince Muan spoke with his gentle but confident tone, giving her a thumbs up, the grand prince simply picked up his tea cup and continued to sip as he passed the baton to Prince Bogeom who looked like he was itching to also speak.

'Yes!!! I can stand by Muan DaeGun's words. Seja Jeoha rarely smiles but when it comes to binggung mama... His no different than a little boy. Once, when we were having lessons. One of the scholars asked about you and the icy tension was immediately lifted.... That was the first time I realized how much power binggung mama actually has over our hyungnim... '

Everyone simply burst into laughter after Bogeom gun's revelation. It was true that after that, whenever anyone of the princes got into trouble with their elder brother. They would now run to their sister in law and ask her to basically convince their brother and comfort him so that he may not unleash his inner beast mode onto them..... Amazingly enough, it had always worked.

Even today was not a simple visit to the crown princess, getting straight to the point... Grand Prince Ilyeong scratches his head and spoke in his tiny slash embarrassed voice.

'As we speak... Binggung mama, could I please ask you for a favor?'

CheongHa smiles and tilts her head as she nods adorably at her younger brother in law.

'Of course, Ilyeong Daegun.... Feel free to ask away. I'd be happy to help as long as I am able to.'

The youngest grand prince's face immediately lights up after receiving confirmation and with his adorable pouty face, he continued

'Well... A few days ago, I borrowed one of the important copies of the book on astronomy from hyungnim....and I think I may have lost it while working in the bureau of Astronomy...?'

Sighing and nodding after understanding his point, CheongHa could only reply with a sympathetic smile.

'Don't worry about it then, I'll try my best to explain what you told me to jeoha and I'll send you a message in the coming days once I think his a bit cooled down.'

It didn't even take 5 seconds to past when the young grand prince's face had suddenly brighten up.

'Really!!! Thank you very much bingggung mama... I'll make sure to be a better younger brother in law to you more in the future so don't hesitate to ask me anything as well.'

After a few more warm chats (mostly Grand Prince Muan boasting about his little daughter Ara) and more of  exchanging embarrassing stories about the crown prince, a loud voice suddenly echoes through the room announcing the arrival of the crown prince. And in a blink of an eye, Crown Prince SeongNam aka Yi Kang had entered his wife's quarters with a not so amused expression on his face.

After glaring at his brothers, he slightly raises his voice and crosses eyes with his youngest brother.

'Ilyeong daegun... I've been looking for you all these days. I think you have something that belongs to me that you'd ought to return in 3 days right? It's already the 7th day and yet I find you here out of all places in the binggung's quarters.'
