A shut ins Hero. (Bernadetta x Male Reader.)

Dorothea's investigation.

Dorothea pov:

Dorothea is seen stretching and sitting up in her bed.

Dorothea: "Alright today's the day that I start my plan to get (Y/N) and Bernie together."

She places her finger on her head.

Dorothea: "The question is where do I start? Maybe I should follow them around? Yeah! I'll follow them and see if they do or say anything I can use to help my mission."

She takes her time to get ready before heading out to start her mission. She exits her dorm and waits inside the bushes outside of Bernadetta's dorm. After several minutes she starts to get impatient.

Dorothea: "Okay where is (Y/N)! And what is taking him so long?!"

She then notices (Y/N) approaching sleepily.

Dorothea: "About time he shows up!"

However (Y/N) isn't on the pathway of the dorm. Rather he is on the main path and walks past Bernadetta's dorm.

Dorothea: "Are you kidding me?! He just walked past her dorm!"

(Y/N) is seen stopping and raising his hand slightly before pointing towards Bernadetta's dorm.

(Y/N): "I should probably wake up Bernadetta. Don't want her getting in trouble with the professor."

Dorothea: *sigh* "At least he didn't forget her."

He knocks on the door. And talks like an annoyed and tired toddler.

(Y/N): "Bernie get up. I don't want to miss breakfast."

No response.

(Y/N): "Bernie if you don't get up I won't give you my cake after dinner."

At an alarming spped Bernadetta peeks her head out the door hiding her body and giving (Y/N) a surprisingly scary look.

Bernadetta: "You wouldn't dare."

(Y/N) responds seemingly ignoring her facial expression sleepily.

(Y/N): "Do you really want to test whether I'm lying or not?"

Bernadetta squints her eyes and points at his face.

Bernadetta: "Give me a few minutes."

(Y/N): "I'll be right here."

After a few minutes Bernadetta opens her door and exits her dorm. She smiles at him.

Bernadetta: "I'm ready. Let's go."

Bernadetta takes the lead as (Y/N) smiles while still visibly tired, and follows her lead.

(Y/N): "Even after this whole routine you still fall for the old cake threat."

Bernadetta crosses her arms and pouts.

Bernadetta: "You know I love cake, and I'll take as much as I possibly can."

(Y/N) chuckles.

(Y/N): "I'm still shocked that you have such a sweet tooth."

Bernadetta: "Enough small talk let's get breakfast sleepy head."

(Y/N): "Says the person who needs help waking up each morning."

Bernadetta: "That's because I know I can trust you."

(Y/N): "Well you know how I am. It isn't easy to consistently get up."

Bernadetta: "Hurry let's get something to eat. I'm starving."

Bernadetta is seen grabbing (Y/N)'s hand and runs dragging (Y/N) behind her.

(Y/N): "Woah! Relax there Bernie! Haha!"

They disappear around the corner.

Dorothea: "Bernie trusts him enough to let him wake her up? Why? Maybe I can learn some more a breakfast."

Dorothea arrives at the cafeteria and walks around after getting something to eat. She then sees (Y/N) wave at her.

(Y/N): "Hey Dorothea got a seat over here for ya if you need it."

Dorothea: "Perfect. Now I can ask some questions about them. Just gotta make sure it isn't obvious that I wasn't watching them."

She takes her seat.

Dorothea: "Hey you two. How've you been?"

(Y/N): "Good thanks for asking."

Bernadetta: "Same here."

Dorothea: "So I've been-"

She's cut off as Edelgard, Hubert, Petra, and Caspar take seats across and next to them.

Edelgard: "Good morning everyone. I hope you got a good night's sleep last night?"

Caspar: "Hey (Y/N) good to see you back on your feet again."

Petra: "(Y/N), it is good to seeing you... no. Good to see you in well health."

Hubert: "Well it seems most of our class will be seated together this morning."

Dorothea keeps trying to talk, but is drowned out due to the conversations being held by the other's. That is until a moment of silence. Dorothea clears her throat getting everyone's attention.

Dorothea: "So Bernie, I was wondering why does your personality completely change when you're with (Y/N)?"

Bernadetta seems shocked.

Edelgard: "Now that Dorothea mentioned it I too am curious?"

Hubert: "I must agree that is quite the interesting question."

Petra: "While thinking of it it is of interest."

Caspar: "Yeah whenever I see Bernadetta alone she's always trying to hide, but with (Y/N) it's like she's an over sized kid."

Bernadetta is seen getting visibly nervous.

Bernadetta: "Th-th-that isn't- I mean it's not- I-I-I d-don't."

She stops when she feels a hand on her shoulder. She sees him smile at her.

(Y/N): "I'll be right here. You don't have to worry."

She smiles before taking a deep breath.

Bernadetta: "You see (Y/N) and I have known each other for years. Him and his dad saved me from a couple of King of Fangs when I was a kid. We were friends for nearly a year after that and we just clicked."

(Y/N): "But one day her father and some gaurds found us. Her dad dragged her home while the guards beat me within an inch of my life. That was also the night my dad died."

Bernadetta: "I guess when I'm around (Y/N) I just think back to the time we spent together as kids."

Dorothea: "That's really sweet."

Hubert: "(Y/N), you said the guards beat you within an inch of your life? Might I ask how you survived?"

Edelgard: "I was thinking the same thing."

(Y/N): "I honestly don't know. Manuela even said it was a miracle that I was alive, let alone conscious."

Dorothea: "So they go back as far as their childhood. That just makes me want to try even harder to get them together."

Soon the bell rings signaling the warning before class starts.

Edelgard: "Well it seems class is going to start soon. We should get going."

Hubert: "Of course Lady Edelgard."

Caspar: "I just wanna get this over with so I can train."

Petra: "I am hoping to get the better understanding of the language."

Bernadetta: "Let's go (Y/N), don't wanna be late."

(Y/N): "Right behind ya Bernie."

Dorothea heads to class watching (Y/N) and Bernadetta walk ahead of her.

Dorothea: "I learned a lot about them today. Hopefully it will prove useful in getting them together."
