As the sun sunk into the sea, the baby Nadder's energy diminished, and their squawking had shrunk into low squeaks, "Ryn?" Erin mumbled, turning to face Auryn, her expression tired.

"Hm?" Auryn hummed, tilting her head to look up at her sister.

"We're stuck," The elder girl sighed, leaning back on her forearms. Auryn nodded, and her worried gaze flickered to her younger brother, who was seemingly unaware of the circumstance they were stuck in. "Yeah," Auryn said softly , tucking her legs into her chest and resting her head on her knees, a defeated expression on her tired face. An unwary Silas hopped on the boulders, the violet Nadder trailing after him excitedly. "I've named him Thrashclaw!" Silas exclaimed happily, a grin plastered on his face as he looked at his sisters. "That's a great name Sil!" Auryn replied, giving the boy a soft smile. Erin gave the girl a questioning look, unsure why their brother had named the dragon he had befriended. Auryn shrugged, not taking her eyes off Silas as he leapt from rock to rock. "Silas,"she yelled, "Careful!"

"Okay!" The boy replied, nodding. Despite that, he continued his unruly behavior, all his problems swept away by the wind as he embraced the moment, the trauma from the past few days forgotten.

Suddenly, the boy slipped, and he scrambled to get a grip on the rock as he began to slide down it, gaining speed with every second. Auryn let out a yelp of fright and pushed herself in his direction and outstretched her hand, trying to grab him. She could hear Erins heavy breathing next to her, and just as the young boy was about to slip off the boulder and plummet into the menacing water below, the violet Nadder seemed to notice its new friend was in danger. It leapt off the rock and swooped under Silas just in time, and the boy landed on its back, weighing the dragon down, and its wings flapped furiously to remain airborne. The boy's breath came hard and wrapped his arms around Thrashclaw, alarmed at his near-death encounter. Erin and Auryn looked at each other, both concerned for Silas' safety. Auryn leapt up,Erin following closely behind her as she carefully walked on their boulder, in the direction of where the dragon landed. "Silas, come here," Erin said loudly, fear lacing her voice. nose before making his way to his sisters.

The two girls wrapped their arms around Silas, pulling him into a tight embrace. Silas collapsed to the floor, shuffling a bit to get in a more comfortable position. Auryn lay down next to the boy, noticing the purple Nadder trotting over, it nuzzled the boy as it curled up next to him, and Silas let out soft sniffles. Erin sat down cross-legged next to her siblings, looking up at the dusky sky above them.

Sighing, Erin closed her eyes, sitting in thought for a while. Suddenly, loud squawking erupted outside around the waterfall, and the three siblings jolted up, surprise etching their faces. It was the Nadders, trying to wake the three up. Thrashclaw ruffled his tiny wings, nudging Silas toward the flock of dragons. It was near night, and the last light of the sun was fading into the dark blue oblivion above.

Silas stood up cautiously, his befriended Nadder still pushing him forward. Auryn and Erin stood up quickly, shooting each other confused glances. Silas stepped foot onto the rock carefully, and Thrashclaw squealed happily. and they all splayed their wings and trotted toward the thick fog in the center of the colossal waterfall. The three siblings looked at each other, confused. Auryn suddenly let out a gasp, "They can fly!" she exclaimed, and Erin raised her eyebrow.

"Yeah? Is that news to you?" Erin replied, confused.

"No no, they can fly with us ," Auryn said, rolling her eyes. Erin gasped softly, surprised she didn't realize first. Thrashclaw nudged Silas' legs apart, and Silas stood in an awkward stance, confusion painting his face. The purple dragon stood underneath the boy, and Silas carefully sat on its back. The creature started flapping its wings and began to rise into the air, zooming around with a wide-eyed Silas clinging to its back. At first, the boy was terrified , knowing one false move would send him plummeting into the obscurity of fog. But as they continued to fly around the boulders, he began to relax, letting out a squeal as Thrashclaw dove toward the ocean, before it spread its wings and they glided along , the wind ruffling his already messy hair.

Auryn and Erin watched from afar, grins on both their faces. Two larger Nadders suddenly approached them, the burnt orange one from before, and an emerald green one with a faded purple back and wings. The two squawked at the girls as they approached them , fluttering their wings happily. Auryn carefully climbed onto the green Nadder's back, and let out a squeak of excitement as they rose into the air slowly, before gliding through the fog, soaking her as they swooped closer to the edge of the falls, the stray droplets of water splashing her face and limbs. Erin and her dragon hurt below Auryn, narrowly avoiding a collision. A sudden screech pierced their ears, coming from below the heavy fog. The flock of baby Nadders immediately turned toward the noise, listening. Abruptly, the rest of the young dragons lifted off, following the sound. The three siblings shrieked in fear as their own dragons followed, plummeting down the center of the hole, into the unknown below.
