Lavender's heart almost broke as she sent her daughter out of the door. Her little princess was leaving to face a murderous group, with almost no help.
She was so relieved to hear Kaira's voice in her head, that she forgot about the message she had come to give for a moment. But she was extremely angry at her as well. How could Kaira hide the fact that the Land of the Earth had been attacked at least two weeks ago?
She pushed her anger away. She didn't have the time to think about it, nor did she have any time to explain all the horrifying details to her daughter. The thought that she had made her leave unprepared daunted her, but Lavender comforted herself with the fact that the letter she had written, oh so many years back, and the book had all the relevant and required details. All the answers to the unanswered questions. All the questions she will get on her journey. All the details that no one, except her could tell.
She was a tad bit comforted though, that Kaira had come, and she knew that Kaira would follow Rory like a shadow - the shadow of the flame - and protect her.
No, she said, shaking her head. She would not think about Kaira.
She heard another blast, much closer than before, and went to concentrate. She opened her mind and she heard all the plants reporting to her, from the nook and corner of the town. When she closed her eyes, she could see which way the Black Hole soldiers were coming.
"My Queen, troops are filing into the town. What do you want us to do?" a Maple Tree said in her mind.
"You are at the borders?" Lavender asked her.
"Yes," she replied.
"Rally the creepers and the thorny bushes. Tell them to block the soldiers' way. Ask Banyan to capture a few high rank holding soldiers, perhaps a Commander and suspend them in the air. We may need them for information later on" Lavender ordered her.
"Yes, my Lady," Maple told her.
"Also -" Lavender said.
"Yes?"
"Do I need to get my hands dirty in this fight?" she asked
"I don't think they are leaving you a choice," Maple said softly.
"Thank you," Lavender told her.
"Bahadur!" she called out.
"Yes, my Queen," a deep voice said.
"I need all the animals helping out everywhere in the Golden Hexagon. Tell them to all help out with the fight" she said.
"Yes my Queen" he replied.
Before Lavender could say anything else, a loud roar was heard all around the town.
"Oh and I'm still angry that you never mentioned that the other towns were under attack" she informed him.
He seemed to sigh to himself. Lavender smiled slightly.
"You've got incoming!" a bell pepper plant on the side of the house said.
Lavender stretched out her hands and her palms started glowing. She stood on the doorstep, flashing a brilliant smile. Ten men rushed towards her. She stretched her hands, and increased the light coming out of her palms. They staggered around, waving their weapons wildly.
She had blinded them.
"Wisteria?" she called to a creeper on the wall.
"Yes, my Queen?" the creeper called back.
