Aurora started to feel scared. Help from Kaira was not something she could rely on. She hadn't seen the bird since she had left her house. Nor did she know whether the bird was of any use or not while fighting. A soldier came in front of her and swung his sword towards her head. She ducked, and the sword got stuck on the moss on the wall, which grew on top of it into a thick rug like layer.
"I love you Monna" she thought.
Feeling much more brave, she forged forward, aiming punches on a few delicate places of the soldier. They grunted, but it seemed more like a minor annoyance to them, than a pain. And each time she punched them, her wrist became more and more sore.
While punching a soldier's shoulder, her hand hit his armor in a very weird angle- she twisted her wrist, and excruciating pain was all she felt. She could not do more. She tried moving her wrist, but so much pain shot through her, that she was almost blinded. She started to grow a bit light headed, and she walked a bit unsteadily. The soldiers had formed a ring around her, leering at her, as she moved unsteadily.
She tried pushing past them, but they flung her back against the wall.
"You punch us, eh? You'll see what we do to you - we'll rip your soft skin apart and -" one of them said roughly
Another man continued, "Leave us some threats, Andino. We'll rip your skin, and cut your limbs off, and -"
"And hang it from our flag post" the next ended.
Aurora didn't hear half the things. She felt like she would faint.
She decided to concentrate on breathing.
She raised her chin, defiantly. If all the things her mother had told was true, she was a Descendant of one of the Maidens. And she would not go down without a fight.
She was feeling very light headed, and her vision grew blurry. Just as she was about to launch a series of punches with her left hand, the soldiers started dancing. It was very strange, and it looked as though they had gone crazy. They were acting like drunkards and were unsteadily walking.
Her gaze then sharpened. They weren't dancing. They were itching. She looked behind them to see a few vines of poison ivy itching them. They were levitating in the air, and poking them in some very itchy places.
"Thank you!" she said loudly at the creepers, feeling a bit silly.
Talking to plants was the next level of going crazy.
"But you aren't going crazy, are you?" her mother's voice asked her.
"Monna?" she asked, tentatively.
"No Rory. Kaira" the voice said
"Why do you sound like my mother?", she asked.
"Later. Meet me at the western side of the town. Come outside the town" she said.
"But I am heading towards the southern side!" she told Kaira
"Don't be silly. You will reach the beach. You will be completely exposed over there. A person a mile away can shoot an arrow at you, and you wouldn't know where it came from" Kaira said, a bit exasperated.
"Ok. I'll see you there. But I want EXPLANATIONS" she said, shouting the last word.
"Why do you need to shout loudly if you know I'm inside your head? You know I can hear you" Kaira huffed.
Aurora could almost see her flinching.
"Just for emphasis" she said, grinning to herself.
"Hmph. Don't do it again" Kaira said.
