It was the dawn of a new morning, and most students were dreading class. Midterms were around the corner and no one seemed ready for them.

"Let's begin shall we?" Koro-sensei quickly got the class started and had his after images moving around the class. It honestly is a blessing to move at Mach 20, getting to be in multiple places at the same time. "I'll be making this period a high-speed enhanced Mid-term Study Hall!" He exclaimed while tying different subject headbands around his head. "My doubles will provide special one on one attention drilling everyone individually on areas where you need improvement most."

"Man, this is balls" Terasaka sighed with his head in his hands. "He's seriously gotta wear a different headband for each subject" he continued before looking up at which subject he needed. "Give me a break, man! Naruto isn't even on the test!" He exclaimed much to my amusement.

Since Koro-sensei would be moving to every student, I took this time to set up a small game of chess. No major stakes, I just didn't have a subject I need to study for.

"My my are you challenging me Ms.(y/n)?" My Koro-sensei after image changed its headband. It was now just a plain white bandana around his head.

"Challenge? No. Pass the time? Totally" I smiled knowing that this game is probably going to fry my brain. "Now which color Squiddy" I asked  when all the pieces were finally aligned.

"Whites."

"Wonderful" I stepped back to allow him to take his turn without the fear of assassination, but that didn't matter anyways. As he was about to take his first move, his head quickly got distorted due to a certain red head pulling a knife.

"Knife down, Karma! No sneak attacks during study hall!" He scolded while the red head playfully smiled. He even had the audacity to flash me a wink with his tongue out. "This is very difficult, so try not to disrupt my concentration!"

"Doesn't all this spread you a little think sir? I mean just thinking about it, makes me feel tired." Nagisa questioned.

"No worries there, I have a double outside on R&R duty! Also my game with (y/n) is quite relaxing, maybe not for her though" he laughed before I felt a tentacle placed on my forehead. "This does involve strategy but don't fry yourself dearie"

"Shhhh! Don't interrupt my concentration" I silenced the octopus. This chess game was moving quite fast for me, everytime I finished my turn it would just become my turn again. The octopus really didn't give me anytime to breathe, so I started to regret my choice of game. I analyzed all his pieces and his defense seemed impenetrable without me sacrificing one of my best pieces. I mean I could do a Hail Mary and potentially kill my Queen leaving a spot open for my knight and rook but what if he was planning for that. I held my head in frustration before Karma oh so graciously gave me some advice.

"Move your king, you're in checkmate" he smirked while I shockingly looked at the board to see he was right. My king was one move away from being killed and I never noticed, I was to focused on me king to protect my own. 'What assassin does that?!' I quickly gathered my thoughts and took in his advice.

"Oh you finally noticed, (y/n). I only set up that defense to try and get your attention away from your king. You must remember attacking isn't the only part to assassination. You must also defend yourself for incoming threats while pursuing your target" he explained.

"Yeah, yeah. Just win the game already! I wanna rematch!" I demanded.

Class eventually was over and out of 13 games, I only won 2. My honor and pride was at an all time low, but this was need to grow stronger. Without Oka-san on my back to always berate me, who was going to stop me from getting too cocky. The octopus had some use after all.
